BetOnline Odds Boosters for Thursday, November 19

The NBA draft is officially behind us, which means we have what should be a fun free agency period looming on Friday. Basketball season is only about a month away, so bettors will have plenty of hoops to which to look forward over the next few months.

In the meantime, we have plenty of football and MMA action to keep us busy. BetOnline has a trio of odds boosters up and ready ahead of Thursday’s action. Which bets are worth your while? Let’s find out.

NCAAF: Tulsa to Win AND Over 53.5 Points (+210)

Tulane will head to Oklahoma to take on Tulsa in the lone college football game on Thursday’s schedule. The Golden Hurricane open as 5.5-point favorites at home in this one. Tulsa has already had three games postponed this season, so their schedule has been quite inconsistent thus far.

However, they’re off to a 4-1 start since losing their season opener to Oklahoma State. That streak includes impressive wins over ranked opponents in UCF and SMU along with triumphs over South Florida and East Carolina. Tulsa has scored at least 28 points in each of their last four games, and they’ll be facing a Tulane squad allowing nearly 420 yards of offense per game so far this season.

Tulsa is priced at -215 on the moneyline, so a win here looks like a pretty solid bet. Games involving Tulane have gone over six times through nine weeks, while Tulsa is 2-3 over-under.

MMA: McKee, Jackson, and Davis ALL to Win (+185)

We have some mixed martial arts on tap for Thursday with Bellator 253. AJ McKee Jr. will take on Darrion Caldwell in the main event as a very heavy -320 favorite. McKee is putting a perfect 16-0 professional record on the line here against a fighter in Caldwell that has lost two of his last four appearances. Caldwell hasn’t fought since January, while this will be McKee’s first bout since last December.

Jason Jackson is listed as a -180 favorite for his fight against Benson Henderson. Jackson enters the fight having won five of his last six fights, including a win by unanimous decision of Jordan Mein in July. Henderson is 28-9 all-time, with his most recent fight resulting in a knockout loss to Michael Chandler in August.

Joey Davis is the biggest favorite of all. He’s priced at -510 to beat Bobby Lee in what looks to be the biggest mismatch on the entire card. The Compton native is a perfect 7-0 in MMA competition, with his most recent win being a TKO victory against Chris Cisneros late last year. Lee is 12-4 as a pro after a unanimous victory by decision over Mike Hill back in September.

NFL: Seahawks (-3.5) to Cover AND Over 57.5 Points (+360)

Thursday Night Football is forgettable most of the time, but this week we actually have what should be a fun matchup. The Arizona Cardinals, fresh off of a thrilling last-second win over the Bills on Sunday, will head to the Pacific Northwest to take on the struggling Seattle Seahawks in what should be a high-scoring affair.

These two teams played a memorable game in the desert earlier this year, with the upstart Cardinals coming away with a stirring 37-34 win on Sunday Night Football. Seattle has suddenly dropped three of their last four games following an impressive 5-0 start, while Arizona has picked up four wins in their last five. The Cardinals, Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams are all 6-3 and technically tied for first place in the NFC West.

First off, the over looks like a good bet here. There is rain in the forecast, but we aren’t expected to see a downpour like the one we saw in New England over the weekend. The forecast also calls for light winds, which shouldn’t really affect the passing game. These have been two of the most prolific offenses in football all year, while both defenses leave plenty to be desired. Obviously, games like that tend to feature plenty of scoring.

The Seattle Seahawks covering the spread is the most questionable part of this bet. The Seahawks are 5-4 against the spread so far this season, and they certainly come into this game in middling form. A matchup with the struggling Cardinals defense should be helpful in curing Russell Wilson’s recent turnover problem, but the lack of home-field advantage here makes Seattle a tough team to trust.

What’s The Best Bet?

The MMA three-way bet looks pretty interesting here at +185. You have three fairly heavy moneyline favorites entering the octagon in what look to be winnable matchups. Taking advantage of the boosted odds makes a lot more sense than betting on any fighter individually at minus-money, so there is plenty of merit to opting for the MMA booster here.

The NFL bet gives me the most pause.

I don’t doubt the potential for this game to go over 57.5 points, but I’m not too comfortable banking on the Seahawks covering the spread. The Cardinals have been one of the more impressive teams in football lately, while the Seahawks have shown zero ability to slow anyone down defensively. Arizona hung 37 on these guys just a few weeks ago. I’d avoid the NFL booster at +360.

Betting on Tulsa to win straight-up plus the over on 52.5 is solid enough, as well. Tulsa should have little trouble against a fairly mediocre Tulane side in this one, and both teams have been involved in their fair share of high-scoring contests. If you want a bit more upside than the MMA bet offers, take a stab at the college football booster at +210. Both are perfectly reasonable options today.
