Antonio Brown Set to Earn Massive Bonus if Bucs Win Super Bowl LV

Making the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been a redemption of sorts for wide receiver Antonio Brown who has been through some of the toughest times of his life before signing with the Bucs, and even while he began playing for Tampa Bay.

Most recently, Brown has been ordered to pay $100K to the woman who accused him of rape and sexual assault for violating a confidentiality agreement that was signed as part of settlement negotiations. Although AB has filed a request to vacate the ruling, there’s a chance that he’s going to pay that hefty sum.

However, if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LV, paying the fine won’t be an issue for Brown, who is set to earn a massive bonus if the Bucs win. The best Super Bowl betting sites are listing Tampa Bay as 3 to 3.5 point underdogs at the spread line so, the Bucs pulling off the upset is a real possibility. And so is Antonio Brown’s Super Bowl win bonus.

Super Bowl LV Win Bonus

Last October, Brown signed a one-year deal with the Buccaneers for a base salary of $750,000. The contract had several bonus clauses, some of which AB has already earned. He has earned $250,000 for playing eight regular-season games with the Bucs, while Tom Brady helped him earn another $250,000 in Week 17 for catching 45 passes on the year.

Antonio Brown’s Bucs deal has a max value of $2.5M, per @AdamSchefter.

Brown finished the regular season with 45 catches for 483 yards with four TDs caught. He missed out on a pair of $250,000 bonuses for 650 receiving yards and 8 touchdown passes caught during the regular season. However, with still one game left to play in the 2020 NFL season, the controversial wide receiver still stands to earn a bonus equal to his base salary.

If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win Super Bowl LV this weekend, Brown is set to earn another $750K bonus. AB’s Tampa Bay contract stipulates that if he takes 35% of the team’s snap and the Bucs win Super Bowl LV, he is set to earn a cool $750K. That’s more than the $500K that Tom Brady is expected to earn if the team wins on Sunday. Of course, Brady’s bonus scheme is different and more lucrative, but when it comes to winning on Super Bowl Sunday, Brown stands to earn more.

Antonio Brown’s Status for Super Bowl LV

Brown missed the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers with a knee injury. He tweaked the knee during Tampa Bay’s 30-20 win over the New Orleans Saints. Brown played in only 27 snaps in that game, mostly in the first half as the injury limited him in the final two quarters. He finished the game with only one catch for 10 yards.

During their win over the Washington Football Team, Brown had two catches on three targets for a total of 49 yards. However, he caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady on a fake handoff to RN Leonard Fournette. That scored gave the Bucs a 9-0 lead to start the game.

Last week, the Bucs revealed that an MRI showed no structural damage to Brown’s knee. On Monday Bucs’ head coach Bruce Arians told reporters that Brown is “a little bit better” than he was last week, but with AB missing practice last week, his status for the big game is “questionable”.

But whether Brown plays or not, his contract will pay him his $750K bonus if the Bucs win. Of course, Brady and Arians would want AB to play, win, and earn the bonus.
