The Super Bowl halftime show is perhaps the most anticipated part of Super Bowl Sunday. To some, it may even be more important than the game itself. When you take a look at the top Super Bowl betting sites, you can even see prop bets related to the intermission.
Performing in the halftime show of Super Bowl LV is a Canadian singer and songwriter Abel Tesfaye who is more popularly known as The Weeknd. The 30-year old from Toronto has charted three no. 1 selling albums in the United States. His no. 1 single Blinding Lights spent 46 atop the Billboard Hot 100 and 37 weeks in the Top 5, making it the longest charted single in the North American region in the 62-year history of the chart.
But The Weeknd isn’t just the only guy who’s looking forward to performing at the Super Bowl LV halftime show. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill said on Monday that he was willing to race the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Scotty Miller during the Super Bowl halftime show.
Shots Fired
Miller was asked during an appearance in Patrick’s show how he felt he would do if he would be lined up against Hill in a foot race. Without hesitation, Miller said he’d take himself every day of the week, and over anybody. When Patrick asked him if he thought he was the fastest player in the NFL, Miller answered with a sure yes. Shots fired.

The 23-year old Bowling Green product played well against the Green Bay Packers as he played meaningful minutes with Antonio Brown out. Miller caught two passes on three targets including a 39-yard TD grab just before halftime.
Going back to the Tyreek Hill footrace though, Miller ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. Meanwhile, Brown was recorded at 4.29 during his Pro Day at West Alabama. This season, Hill was clocked with a top speed of 21.91 MPH during a 44-yard receiving TD. But while that’s impressive, that was just the 5th fastest ball carry runs in 2020. San Francisco’s Raheem Mostert owns the two fastest runs this season at 23.09 MPH on an 80-yard TD run and 22.73 MPH on a 60-yard receiving TD.
A Super Bowl Halftime Race?
No, Tyreek Hill isn’t trying to steal the show from the Weeknd. The Cheetah is merely reacting to Miller’s claim on the Dan Patrick Show that he can win a one-on-one footrace with Hill, considered as one of the fastest players in the NFL today. Said Hill in an interview on Monday:
“Do I think he’s faster than me? I don’t know, maybe we can do something at halftime, someone line it up for us.”

While watching Hill and Miller settle their dispute would be a fantastic sideshow, it’s not likely happening. Not when both still have to play an important role with their respective teams in the second half of the game. After all, it’s the Vince Lombardi trophy that matters, right?
So don’t bet on who wins a foot race between Tyreek Hill and Scotty Miller. That isn’t happening, at least not during the Super Bowl. But who knows? Someone could produce this foot race after the NFL season. And many would be willing to watch it.
When it comes to Super Bowl LV, it might be wiser to bet on Tyreek Hill with his prop bets as he will be the best receiver this Sunday. The former West Alabama star is tied with Travis Kelce for the best odds to get the first reception for the Chiefs at +250 at SportsBetting.ag. The same online sportsbook also lists Hill with the 4th best odds to win Super Bowl MVP at +1200, behind only Patrick Mahomes (-115), Tom Brady (+140), and Travis Kelce (+1000).
