BetMGM launches horse racing app in Florida and Louisiana; “key part” of market expansion plans
Sports betting and gaming entertainment giant BetMGM has now launched its horse racing mobile app in Florida and Louisiana, the company announced on Monday. The BetMGM Horse Racing app is now available for download on both iOS and Android devices.
The application allows users to watch-and-wager on premier Thoroughbred, Harness and Quarter Horse races at more than 200 tracks around the world, according to BetMGM. These tracks include Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park and Aqueduct Racetrack.
“Today’s launch in Florida and Louisiana sets the stage for BetMGM to engage with a new customer base in the South,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. “The BetMGM Horse Racing app is a key part of our market expansion plans and will accelerate our continued growth into 2022.”
Following this new launch, the BetMGM Horse Racing app is now live in three states: Florida, Louisiana and Ohio. The product went live in the Buckeye State earlier this year, on October 28. “We’ve created an innovative digital experience for horse racing fans and anticipate the platform’s future launch in additional states,” Greenblatt said back then.
BetMGM’s horse racing mobile app was developed in partnership with NYRA Bets, the official online wagering platform of the New York Racing Association, a leading provider of horse racing content in the US.
BetMGM Horse Racing app utilizes NYRA Bets’ capabilities to allow customers “to place bets conveniently from home,” describes a press statement. The app features daily horse racing content, live streaming video, race replays and wagering opportunities.
It allows betting on marquee events in the U.S., including the Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes, the summer meet at Saratoga Race Course, Pegasus World Cup, and the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. It additionally allows users to access live streams of international events like Royal Ascot, Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Melbourne Cup, and the Grand National.
Also on Monday, the sports betting venture between MGM Resorts and Entain announced that sports wagering is now live at BetMGM Sportsbook @ EQC, in Emerald Queen Casino, Washington. State sports legends Edgar Martinez, Marshawn Lynch, Lawyer Milloy and Sydney Rice helped celebrate the sportsbook’s official opening and first bets.
“We’re thrilled to expand BetMGM’s presence in Washington, a significant market filled with some of the country’s most passionate sports fans,” said Adam Greenblatt. “Together with the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and our partners at Emerald Queen Casino, we’re proud to welcome guests to the state’s premier sportsbook.”
The BetMGM Sportsbook @ EQC features a 500-square-foot video wall, more than a dozen 86″ high-definition televisions, 70 DreamSeat leather armchairs, six ticket windows and 30 betting kiosks.
