Caesars Entertainment announced Tuesday that Matt Sunderland has been appointed Senior Vice President of iGaming, effective October 1. Sunderland joins the team with more than 20 years of experience in the online gaming industry, having served as VP of gaming for BetMGM, where he oversaw iGaming launches in new jurisdictions and led the team “to triple-digit revenue growth year-over-year.”
“This is an exciting time to be in iGaming and at Caesars Entertainment, and I am so pleased to join the Caesars team. As the industry continues to grow, I’m looking forward to identifying new potential for our iGaming business while continuing to bring top-notch service to our customers,” Sunderland stated.
Prior to working for BetMGM, Sunderland was an iGaming consultant for GVC and MGM Resorts, and has also held several senior leadership roles at Probability PLC, GTECH/IGT and CNN International.

Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, said: “We’re thrilled to have Matt join the Caesars team. His deep experience and successful track record will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow our iGaming and sports betting business. We’re looking forward to what we can accomplish together with Caesars Sportsbook & Casino.”
Caesars Entertainment launched Caesars Sportsbook & Casino in April 2021, and continues to upgrade its offerings “to provide players a best-in-class experience” through new features like same-game parlays, faster payouts, cashout functionality “and much more,” the company says.
As part of its plans for the digital segment, Caesars announced last month that a revamped Caesars Sportsbook app will launch in Nevada later this year, with faster payouts and more betting options including same-game parlays. Caesars customers in Nevada currently using the Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill app will now migrate to the new platform.
