Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, commented: “Ohio’s rich tradition of sports excellence speaks for itself. Caesars Sportsbook is ready to match the pedigree and passion of Ohio sports fans with a sports wagering experience that treats them like royalty.”
Starting Thursday, eligible bettors in Ohio can download the Caesars Sportsbook app, register and deposit funds. Bettors can fund their accounts early and start with a $100 bet credit. Users can employ the CZR1H promo code, and deposit at least $20 before January 1, to receive a $100 bet credit for the day mobile wagering goes live.
Caesars Entertainment has a long legacy in Ohio through its offering of entertainment experiences at Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs in Columbus, the company noted. The racino will open a Caesars Sportsbook location to accept cash-deposit sports wagers in person on launch day.

Additionally, the recently announced Caesars Sportsbook & Casino Truck will make stops at Scioto Downs and marquee sporting events across the state to engage and educate eligible sports fans on how to download the app and sports wager responsibly.
The sportsbook is also the Official Sports Betting Partner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, which provides bettors with special access to tickets, merchandise, and experiences including meet and greets with Cavaliers’ legends. Caesars Entertainment is also an “Official Casino Partner” of the Cavs.
The partnership with the team includes plans to open a retail sportsbook on the street level inside the Northwest Atrium area of the team’s home venue, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
The new sportsbook opens on January 1 and will mark the third at a U.S. professional sports facility for Caesars, adding to the historic first in-arena sportsbook of Caesars Sportsbook at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., and Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field in Arizona.
Ahead of the launch of Ohio’s sports betting market, the Ohio Casino Control Commission has approved several operators to kickstart their activities as soon as launch day arrives. FanDuel and Barstool Sportsbook were greenlit recently, along with a first round of Class C licensees.
FanDuel is partnered with Belterra Park Racino in Cincinnati, while Barstool is partnered with Hollywood Casino in Columbus. Both have also been approved as retail operators for their mobile partners.
Barstool has been additionally approved to operate retail sportsbooks at Dayton Raceway and Hollywood casinos in Toledo and Youngstown, bringing the total number of approved Ohio retail sportsbook operators to nine. The Cleveland Browns, JACK Casino, JACK Thistledown Racino, and the Cincinnati Reds are also among the parties that have been approved for online (type A) and in-person (type B) licenses.
