Golden Gate casino in downtown Las Vegas is preparing for a major change as it eliminates all live table games and dealers, shifting entirely to electronic table games. The move, announced by parent company Circa Hospitality Group, will make the property one of the few casinos in the city to operate without any live tables.
The company said the update will include a new electronic table games pit, designed to provide faster play and a more modern gaming experience. Management emphasized that the change is intended to keep pace with shifting customer preferences and rising operational costs that have made traditional tables less profitable.
The Golden Gate casino has long been known for its intimate gaming floor and distinctive features, including its dancing dealers. Replacing these live games with electronic versions represents a significant shift in the property’s identity. However, Circa executives noted that employees currently working as table game dealers will not lose their jobs. Instead, they will be offered positions at other Circa-owned casinos such as the D and Circa Resort, or given the option to transition into new roles.
Industry observers point out that Golden Gate is following a broader trend, as demand for live tables continues to decline. Casino Royale was previously the only Las Vegas casino to fully remove live table games, but Golden Gate’s decision suggests others may eventually follow.
The transition is expected to be completed by the end of August 2025. Company leadership described the change as both a response to the current market and an opportunity to position Golden Gate casino as a leader in downtown’s evolving gaming landscape.
