Las Vegas ziplines are an amazing adrenaline pumping way to spend time in Sin City. So This Week in Gambling, we’re looking at five ziplines ranging in height, length, speed, and price to help find the rides that are just right for you! Most everyone who’s visited Las Vegas knows about the ziplines on Fremont Street and the strip. But those aren’t the only rides in town. There are other ziplines that are small enough for the kids and others that are 700 to 800 ft above the ground and more!
Let’s begin with the obvious and head to downtown for the most famous of the Las Vegas ziplines: Slotzzilla on Fremont Street. Riders can sit for the lower line at 77 ft above the ground or fly like Superman in the upper line at over 100 ft and speeds reach 35 to 40 m an hour. Riders should be 18 or older and weigh at least 50 lb, but no more than 300. Plus, you’ll get a free photo taken at the end of the line. Next is the Fly LINQ zipline located in the LINQ promenade. Riders zoom along, 1100 ft of line toward the High Roller observation wheel while reaching speeds of 35 mph and hanging 114 ft above the ground. Guests under 18 need a parent, while kids under 12 need someone to ride with them. And you must be between 60 and 300 lb.
If those rides are just a bit too much for you, or you’re looking for something more subdued that you can do with kids as a family, why not try the Haley’s Comet Zipline at Area 15. This is where hang gliding meets free falling as two parallel tracks run 850 ft through area 15 at speeds up to 35 mph, and you can race your opponent on the other track. Riders under 18 will need a parent with them and all riders should be between 80 and 265 lbs. Prices range from 15 to $20. Then there’s the Spy Ninja Zipline located off West Sahara. Build as the longest indoor line in Las Vegas. Guests fly the curbed track above others enjoying the arcade, trampolines, and climbing walls. Riders need to be at least 8 years old, over 47 in in height, and weigh less than 300 lb. Kids under 47 in must be accompanied by an adult.
Now, before we get to the zipline that takes riders over 700 ft in the air, we have a bonus attraction for you. Because not all Las Vegas ziplines move horizontally, some go straight down, like Sky Jump at the STRAT. This controlled free fall zipline has riders leaping from the STRAT tower at more than 800 ft above the ground or 108 stories up. Falling at speeds of up to 40 mph. Riders must be 18 years old or 14 with a parent or guardian. And while there’s no minimum height, you cannot be over 265 lbs.
Finally, this week we’ve got the biggest, the baddest zipline in the greater Las Vegas area. Although it’s a bit of a drive, but no worries, they can pick you up. Or you can drive yourself or you can make it part of a guided tour. We’re talking about the zipline at Hualapai Point. Ride more than 2,000 ft of line, crossing over canyons and the Nevada desert, all while reaching speeds up to 40 mph and soaring 700 ft above the ground. Prices start at less than $100 per person, and those under 18 do need a parent. Riders also need to be over 4 feet tall and weigh over 90 lbs, but not more than 275. And if you’re out there wondering about the Las Vegas ziplines at the Rio or the one out at Bootleg Canyon, sorry, those are closed.
