Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Connecticut, will reopen for the season on April 15 following a multi-year, multi-million-dollar renovation aimed at improving playability and pace of play.
The project introduced structural and design changes across the course, including new layouts for holes #3, #6, and #11, along with bunker reductions, upgraded cart paths, and selective tree removal to improve sightlines. The redesign was carried out with input from architect Ron Garl and implemented by the club’s operations team led by Philip Krick Jr., Vice President and General Manager of Golf Operations.
Upgrades also included the installation of new irrigation and drainage systems to improve playing conditions. The changes are intended to support smoother play across the course while enhancing the overall experience for golfers.
“Mohegan Sun Golf Club has undergone a significant course upgrade after our multi-year, multi-million-dollar renovation, and we can’t wait to open the reimagined course on April 15th,” said Philip Krick Jr., VP & GM of MSGC.
“We’ve made key improvements not just to the overall course, but also to our online booking systems, making it easier than ever for guests to secure tee times and enjoy a seamless experience from the moment they book to the moment they step onto one of the most beautiful courses in the region.”
The facility will host several Connecticut State Golf Association events during the season, including the 20th Senior Match Play Championship from June 29 to July 2, and the Connecticut Open and Connecticut Mid-Amateur Qualifier on June 16. These events will feature stroke-play qualifying and match-play competitions across divisions.
The club will continue to operate its existing amenities, including the Greenside Grille & Pub, the Triple Tee Snack Bar, and beverage cart services. Instruction is offered through the Mohegan Sun Golf Academy, which provides indoor and outdoor coaching supported by video and shot-tracking technology, along with individual and group lessons and club fitting programs.
