The Hon Nigel Feetham KC MP, Gibraltar’s Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, will deliver the opening address at the inaugural Prediction Markets Summit Europe on 9–10 November 2026, following the government’s introduction of a regulatory framework for prediction markets.
The summit comes as Gibraltar becomes the first European jurisdiction to establish a dedicated licensing framework for the sector, marking a significant step in its strategy to position itself as a regulated hub for prediction markets.
The event will bring together regulators, platform operators, financial institutions, investors, legal and compliance experts, technology providers, and market infrastructure specialists to examine the regulatory, commercial, and technological developments shaping prediction markets across Europe.
“Gibraltar has always been prepared to act where others hesitate,” said Feetham. “We took a deliberate decision to create a licensing framework for prediction markets because we recognise the enormous opportunity they represent, economically, technologically, and for the global financial ecosystem.”
Feetham added that the government’s focus is on attracting credible, regulated operators that will contribute to Gibraltar’s long-established financial services ecosystem. “I look forward to welcoming industry leaders to Gibraltar in November,” he stated.
Organised by Eventus International, the two-day summit will focus on the practical implementation of prediction market regulation and the industry’s next phase of growth.
Discussions will cover European regulatory classification, the implications of the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, cross-border licensing, event resolution, market integrity, blockchain and artificial intelligence, institutional participation, and Gibraltar’s role as a regulated hub for innovation.
