Ambassadeurs Group, which operates Les Ambassadeurs casino in London, confirmed Wednesday it has made a £10,000 ($13,080) donation to the Consumer Protection Zone at ICE London 2022, an event that will take place from 12-14 April at the ExCel London.

The Consumer Protection Zone, which focuses on promoting and supporting responsible gambling measures, consists of a charitable collection which will allocate funds to one or more charities exhibiting at the Zone. The Ambassadeurs Group donation brings the overall total to £46,000 ($60,174) for ICE London 2022.

The Ambassadeurs Group has also announced that it will commit 1% of its gross gambling yield (GGY) to research, education and treatment.

The winning charities will be announced at a presentation on the opening day of the exhibition. Attendees will also be able to see to responsible gambling presentations and talks at the Consumer Protection Zone on 12 April. ICE London 2022 also features a number of other responsible gambling exhibitions, including a Responsible Gambling Masterclass that will take place as part of ICE VOX.

In an official press release, Tracy Damestani, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Ambassadeurs Group, spoke and said: “We fully support ICE London’s promotion of the Consumer Protection Zone and are especially pleased to see that this important feature is recognised as an integral part of the gambling industry. We applaud Clarion and our peers who embrace the Zone and, importantly those who work alongside safer gambling providers. It’s more than just being a shop window for safer gambling; it provides an opportunity for industry professionals to network and learn from each-other, and in the process contribute to the creation of a safe and sustainable industry.”

“Les Ambassadeurs Club is the first operator to formally announce that it is committing 1% of its GGY to Research Education and Treatment (RET). This commitment which commenced 1st January 2022 will see GambleAware become the sole beneficiary for 2022. Our commitment to increase our RET ten-fold is in addition to other significant contributions to safer gambling agencies, as well as other non-gambling related good causes.”

Ewa Bakun, Director of Industry Insight and Engagement at Clarion Gaming, added: “Les Ambassadeurs has shown fantastic leadership by committing 1% of its GGY to research education and treatment. Ambassadeurs Group’s generous support of the Consumer Protection Zone is further evidence of how safer gambling is embedded in its DNA and the importance it attributes to achieving the highest safer gambling standards. We are extremely grateful for their unstinting support of the safer gambling philosophy.”

The CPZ is set to host a set of leading charities, comprising Gordon Moody, GamCare, YGAM, Responsible Gambling Council and Gamstop, together with suppliers including Future Anthem, Gamblewise, Mindway AI, Casino Guru, TruNarrative, BeBettor, W2 and Crucial Compliance.

“This will be the biggest and highest-profile presence since the Consumer Protection Zone was introduced to the show-floor in 2018,” Bakun said last month. “Then we had eight exhibitors, comprising a mix of technology providers and charities and we are on 14 this year.”
