The company’s Head of Sales for Southern Europe passed away on Saturday after battle with cancer

ristocrat Technologies announced Monday through a press release the passing of Christian Colus on Saturday 31 July, following a battle with cancer.
Colus joined Aristocrat in 2006, quickly establishing a professional presence in the French and Spanish gaming industries, and his work led to a fast appointment to the position of Head of Sales for Southern Europe, where he extended his influence into many more European and African markets.
According to the company’s statement, Colus also maintained a personal interest for his earlier career in the global theme parks and attractions sector, and was “instrumental in designing and opening a theme park close to his home in Provence, France”.
The company referred to him as “one of the gaming industry’s most prolific commercial visionaries”, and “one of the most successful and adored characters within the Aristocrat family for one and a half decades” and described his achievements as “monumental, revolutionising French and Spanish gaming floors, uniting operators to help propel the industry forward and developing a unique and deep-rooted camaraderie amongst a network of professionals across the globe”.
“His legacy will remain for many years to come. Aristocrat honours and cherishes his memory and extends its sincere condolences to Christian’s family and many friends”, the company concluded.
His funeral will take place at 10 am at Pernes-les-Fontaines Church in the Vaucluse, France, on Wednesday, July 4.
