Macau ex-junket boss Alvin Chau has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after he was found guilty of charges including illicit gambling, criminal association and fraud. Chau’s downfall, which comes after weeks of trial and months of decline for the once prosperous junket sector, marks the end of the gambling hub’s VIP sector. Grant Johnson, the recently removed CEO of esports and online betting company Esports Entertainment Group, has filed a lawsuit against his former employer. Johnson, who resigned as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the business on December 23, alleges the group’s dismissal of his services represented a breach of his employment contract.
