The Tennessee Sports Wagering Advisory Council (SWAC) has approved the renewal of the licenses of the state’s four initial operators. Action 24/7, BetMGM, DraftKings and FanDuel all saw their sports wagering licenses extended at the council’s Monday meeting. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approved a consent agreement during its Wednesday meeting that led to a fine of $10,000 for Stadium Casino, operator of Live! Casino Philadelphia, for two incidents in which individuals gained access to restricted areas of the casino facility. In the first incident, a woman entered numerous restricted “back of the house” areas in both the casino and hotel and stole items from employees. Sports betting handle in Mississippi fell 21.4% in a year-over-year comparison during September. However, revenue in the state remained level. As reported by the jurisdiction’s regulator, players bet $43.1 million last month, down from $54,8 million in 2021, although it doubled the amount spent by consumers in August 2022, which was $21.2 million.  Despite the decline in handle, revenue maintained its level compared to 2021, and reached $8.8 million. Monarch Casino & Resort has reported all-time record financial results for the third quarter of the year. The company, which operates the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada, and the Monarch Casino Resort in Black Hawk, Colorado, posted net revenue of $133.7 million for the period, an increase of 19.8% from the $111.6 million in the prior-year quarter. Casino, food & beverage, and hotel revenues increased 20.3%, 20.6% and 19.9% year over year, respectively. New South Wales gaming floors will install facial recognition technology to improve identification of those wishing to self-exclude, enhancing safe gambling in the region. Clark County commissioners have given Houston mogul Tilman Fertitta the green light to develop a towering casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip. The commission approved the billionaire’s plans on Wednesday, which call for a 43-story, 2,420-room project in the casino corridor.
