The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casino brand have offered an update on the progress of construction at Four Winds South Bend in Indiana. An expansion of the casino resort is underway while the venue’s extended gaming floor was unveiled on August 18, now spanning more than 98,000 square feet and featuring 1,900 slot machines, 27 table games, and a new high-limit area. Temecula, California-based Pechanga Resort Casino has announced a new multi-year partnership with the NBA’s LA Clippers. The deal will see the property, an enterprise of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Mission Indians, serve as the exclusive tribal casino of the basketball team. A judge has granted a 90-day stay of his August decision striking down changes to the law governing how Atlantic City casinos pay property taxes, local media reports. Superior Court Judge Michael Blee said late Friday that the stay was contingent on either the Appellate Division or the New Jersey Supreme Court considering the case on an accelerated or emergent basis. An extension will be possible should one of those courts not rule in time, Blee said, as reported by The Press of Atlantic City. Esports and online betting company Esports Entertainment Group has reported its financial results for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year. During Q4, the business delivered revenue of $11.7 million, an increase of $2.9 million compared to the same period last year. However, the figure was down 25.4% sequentially from net revenue of $15.7 million in fiscal Q3 2022. Sports betting and gaming group Entain shared Friday compiled data showing “a clear surge in popularity” when it comes to Formula 1 bets, with a record-breaking year on the cards for 2022.  Data from Entain between 2018 and 2022 reveals the total number of Entain customers betting on Formula 1 increased by 50% during the four-year period. Flutter Entertainment is currently spending more than EUR 100 million ($112 million) yearly on safer gambling initiatives in Ireland and Britain. The increased responsible gaming efforts come as both jurisdictions move to tighten their regulations. Massachusetts gaming regulators have hired consultants to aid with sports betting as the state works on launching the upcoming legal wagering industry by late January.
