Michigan officials have seized 56 gaming machines and more than $12,700 in alleged illegal gambling profits during recent raids in Southeast Michigan. According to the state’s Gaming Control Board, the raids took place at Redford Township, Taylor and Allen Park gas stations, and a Flint-area store on September 28 and September 29. Investigations targeted alleged illegal gambling at gas stations located at 25845 Eight Mile Road, Redford Township; 8808 Pelham Road, Taylor; and 19350 Ecorse Road, Allen Park. William Hill opened a new “state-of-the-art, digital-only” shop in Leeds, UK, on Saturday. The company relaunched its Vicar Lane Venue with a gran opening ceremony attended by ex-Leeds and England goalkeeper Nigel Martyn, former Yorkshire and England cricketer Craig White and ex-Leeds Rhinos player Stevie Ward. The Alabama Supreme Court has ordered casino shutdowns in two counties, a move that has prompted questions over the future of gambling in the state. Gaming facilities in Lowndes and Macon counties are set to close soon following the decision, which was reached Friday, marking the latest episode in a decades-long tense relationship between state and gambling. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Chairman Robert VanZile Jr. of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community announced Friday the signing of an agreement that allows the Tribe to offer event wagering at its Mole Lake Casino & Lodge and other locations within its reservation.  This deal, which amends the Sokaogon’s gaming compact with the state, will enable the Tribe to offer wagering on sports and other events.
