After the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA) approved Crown to operate its Sydney property last month, Crown Sydney has now announced it will open its doors in August to VIP visitors only. New York City has been drawing interest from developers and gaming operators seeking to open local casinos, according to reports. Arkansas has seen its legalized sports betting market grow since the introduction of mobile wagering, with the Department of Finance and Administration’s latest numbers for the region pointing in that direction. Great Canadian Gaming has put contingency plans in place in the event of a strike at its casinos in Ontario. The transaction that saw Blackstone sell The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for $5.65 billion was the “most profitable single asset sale ever” for the company’s real estate business, Blackstone said in an earnings report Thursday. The high-priced transaction included a $1.625 billion lease-back deal for MGM Resorts International to acquire its operations in May.
