After 28 years, Camelot will lose its license to run the UK National Lottery as the Gambling Commission named rival Allwyn Entertainment as its preferred applicant to take over. Owned by the Czech group Sazka, Allwyn is expected to take over from Camelot in 2024. Camelot has been named as the reserve applicant. A bill seeking to allow the state gambling industry to adopt cashless gaming and to legalize esports betting has passed the Iowa House of Representatives. Clarion Gaming said Monday that registrations for April’s return of ICE London are tracking above the like-for-like volumes recorded for the February 2020 show, which was the last live edition of ICE. The West Virginia Legislature concluded its 2022 session Saturday, with lawmakers not taking action on the satellite casino bill, passed March 1 by the Senate. The project aimed to approve satellite casinos (or mini-casinos), which have been used in neighboring Pennsylvania to reactivate economic activity in empty malls, such as former Sears and Bon-Ton department stores and a former Macy’s on Nittany Mall, which have been repurposed in that state.  Senate Bill 100 was introduced in February by state Senator Eric Nelson. Singapore Parliament passed Friday in second and final reading the Gambling Control Bill, which legalizes social gambling, as it criminalizes underage and proxy gambling, seeking to protect the vulnerable through prohibition as a part of tighter safeguards.
