B oyd Gaming Corporation announced Tuesday that it will donate $250,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank, the largest in southern Louisiana, in support of its southern communities.  This area suffered extreme damage from Hurricane Ida, which made landfall in southern Louisiana on August 29. A ustralian mobile wagering operator BlueBet Holdings (BBT) has withdrawn its application for a sports betting license in Virginia. The withdrawal comes less than a week after BlueBet announced that it had failed to secure a permit in Arizona. BlueBet had applied for a license but was informed by the Virginia Lottery that it was not eligible, given that licenses would only be granted to operators that had experience in other US states and have equity interest owned by minority individuals or minority-owned businesses. T he Culinary Union has been urging residents near Station Casinos’ planned Durango Station casino resort to speak up and let local officials know if they are against the project, marking a new episode in both parties’ ongoing disputes. I ndia’s Karnataka Cabinet decided on Saturday, September 4 to ban online gambling by amending the Karnataka Police Act, 1963. However, online lottery and betting on horse races happening within or outside the state will not be prohibited.  The cabinet approved a draft of the amendment bill, which will be taken to the House during the legislature session commencing September 13. G ambling firms under the standards body Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) in the UK have firmed a pledge to create 5,000 apprenticeships over the next five years.
