V ideo gaming terminal rooms around Pennsylvania closed beginning at Friday midnight as part of Gov. Tom Wolf’s latest COVID-19 mitigation order. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced Friday that the rooms located in 40 truck stop establishments will be closed until 8 a.m. Jan. 4, 2021. Each room can operate up to five machines. A ccording to data released by Maryland Lottery and Gaming, casinos in the state generated $130,377,478 in gaming revenue during November, 7.4% less compared to the same month last year, when they made $140,835,580. The decrease in revenue means the casinos contributed 9.1% less this November than last November, CBS Baltimore reports.  The COVID-10 pandemic has led to capacity limitations of 50% at five casinos and 25% at Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore. T he Mississippi Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a proposed casino site on the Mississippi Gulf Coast does not meet state standards for where casinos are allowed to locate. Ray Wooldridge, a former owner of the New Orleans Hornets NBA team, started trying in 2008 get approval for a casino site that’s a bit inland in Biloxi, using the business name RW Development LLC, the Associated Press reports. The Mississippi Gaming Commission rejected the site in 2008, 2017 and 2019.
