The Illinois Senate has passed a bill addressing sports betting addiction. Senate Bill 1508 requires sports gaming companies to display a message to people at least once every hour noting how much money they have wagered since logging in. The alert would also include a hyperlink to websites and phone numbers for assistance with gambling addiction. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has published a new report called Snapshot of Social Casinos, which provides insights into consumer habits and industry trends for this growing market. Ohio sports betting continues its upward trend, with nearly 900 kiosks. A February Ohio Lottery Commission report shows 79 host locations were added in February to the existing 772 that opened in January.  The report shows kiosk gamblers wagered $973,208 in February, a $122,872 increase compared to January. Players took home $909,552 in winnings, a 26% increase over January’s $722,376, which sums up to a payout of 93.61%. The Rhode Island Senate has approved legislation from President Dominick Ruggerio that would allow sports betting on in-state collegiate teams, something that has been prohibited since the legalization of sports betting in 2018. The new bill would allow betting on collegiate teams when participating in tournaments with four or more teams.
