Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR is targeting industry-wide gross gaming revenues of $4.5 billion in 2023, supported by a faster-than-expected pandemic recovery following the re-opening of international borders last year. The revised target, submitted to the Governance Commission for GOCCs as part of PAGCOR’s 2023 Performance Scorecard, comes after the Philippines-wide GGR of $3 billion in 2022 exceeded the agency’s initial estimates. The research showed most surveyed participants believed there were “too many opportunities to gamble” and shows a majority of Australians support banning gambling advertising on TV. Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported combined iGaming and online sports betting gross revenue of $170.8 million during February. While receipts were up 17.6% on a yearly basis, they fell 8.8% compared with January’s results of $187.3 million.
