oo Kim, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Standard General, and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bally’s Corporation, is set to participate in SBC Summit North America as a keynote speaker.
The executive will hold a “fireside chat” session, the event organizers announced. The Summit will take place on November 30 – December 2 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey.
SBC Summit describes Kim as a “major keynote speaker” with extensive experience in the industry. The executive is a Founding Partner of Standard General and has been investing in special situations strategies since 1997. His session will take place on Wednesday, December 1, from 10 AM to 10:45 AM EST.
Kim is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bally’s Corporation. Under his leadership, the firm, which owns and operates several casinos in the US, has also diversified into other verticals. These include media, through acquiring Sinclair Broadcasting; software platforms, by purchasing Bet.Works; and esports, by a Monkey Knife Fight acquisition. Bally’s also bought the iconic Strip property Tropicana under Kim’s lead.
Among the wide range of topics Kim will cover, he will discuss the intersection of sports, gaming and media, the future of online gaming, and specifically the New Jersey and New York markets. Contessa Brewer, a television journalist who covers the casino and gaming industries as a correspondent for CNBC, will act as moderator.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO of SBC, said he expected Kim’s perspectives on the industry to be valuable to attendees, given the unique approach to building out the company Bally’s is taking. “Given Bally’s aggressive growth pattern and the diversity of holdings that they’re amassing, they have an interesting model,” concurred Sue Schneider, SBC’s VP, Growth & Strategy, Americas.
There will be eight conference tracks at SBC Summit North America, featuring more than 200 expert speakers, who will share their insights on key issues and opportunities in the sports betting and iGaming industries in the US.
Other keynote speakers include Bill Miller, CEO and President of the American Gaming Association, and Jan Jones Blackhurst, Board member at Caesars Entertainment.
