Bally's starts rebranding process of MontBleu Resort Casino in Nevada

MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa near Lake Tahoe will now change its name after being purchased by Bally’s Corp. It was confirmed last week that the property has started its rebranding process into the new Bally’s Lake Tahoe Casino & Hotel

The property-wide rebrand will replace the interior and exterior signage, dice, cards, gambling chips and table game layouts, and is expected to be complete in the first half of 2022, according to a news release by the company.

The 438-room MontBleu was originally known as Caesars Tahoe when it was expanded to its current footprint in 1979, and was rebranded to its current name after it was sold in 2005. Bally’s Corp. completed its acquisition of the property in April.

The rebrand comes after Providence, Rhode Island-based Bally’s acquired the Montbleu property from Reno-based Caesars Entertainment in April. Then-MontBleu owners Eldorado Resorts announced it would sell the property, as well as the Eldorado Shreveport Resort and Casino in Shreveport, La., to Twin River Worldwide Holdings for $155 million.

As part of the deal, Twin River Worldwide Holdings acquired rights to the Bally’s name from Caesars and eventually changed its company name to Bally’s Corporation.

On the property’s rebranding, George Papanier, president of retail at Bally’s Corp., said: “We are proud to bring the Bally’s brand to Lake Tahoe, and it’s an exciting time for our customers and team members. I’d like to thank the state of Nevada for its collaboration throughout this process, and I’d also like to recognize our team members for their contributions to this significant endeavor”.

Previously in the year, the company purchased Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino from Caesars Entertainment and Vici Properties. Buying the brand name allowed Bally’s Corp. to retain the iconic name of the Atlantic City, New Jersey, casino, as well as rebrand all 14 of its casinos.
