The newly released Yahoo list of “10 best casinos in the U.S. if you love to gamble” has put MGM‘s Bellagio Resort & Casino, Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and Monarch’s Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno atop the list, and a South Mississippi casino rounding out the Top 10.
The fourth and fifth positions are taken by two leading Atlantic City casinos: Borgata and Hard Rock, respectively. They are followed by two Arizona properties: Gila River Resorts & Casinos at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler; and Talking Stick Resort & Casino in Scottsdale. Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut comes 8th, and WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma, made the 9th spot.
As for the 10th position, Island View Casino in Gulfport is a new, 70,000-square-foot, smoke-free casino that is intended to “bring in millennials”, according to the property owner, Rick Carter.
The Yahoo report reads: “For a mix of beaches, gambling and golf, head over to Island View Casino Resort, situated on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. It’s considered to be one of the premier gambling spots in the area, boasting over 2,600 slots, 49 tables and multiple sports books within its 126,000 square feet of gaming space”.
It was opened in 2006 by two school friends Rick Carter and Terry Green, a year after Hurricane Katrina destroyed their Copa Casino and they went to Las Vegas and bought the Grand Gulfport from Caesars. “Island View Casino Resort actually features two distinct casinos on the property, which gives visitors plenty to explore”, Yahoo wrote.
The combined casinos are the largest in the state and the floor-to-ceiling windows in the beach casino make it one of the few casinos with a view.
