Boyd Gaming Corporation has announced changes to its leadership structure with the promotion of four senior executives, part of a focused initiative to strengthen its management and organizational structure.
Steve Thompson, previously the Executive Vice President, Operations for the Nevada region, has been appointed as the new Chief Administrative Officer, effective immediately.
Assuming Thompson’s prior role is Steve Schutte, formerly the Senior Vice President, Operations for the company’s Las Vegas Locals properties. Alongside the oversight of the Nevada properties, Schutte will now lead Corporate Slot Operations, Food and Beverage, and Hotel Operations.
Ted Bogich, previously serving as the Executive Vice President, Operations for the company’s Midwest & South region, has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer, also effective immediately.
Ward Shaw, the former Senior Vice President, Operations overseeing Boyd Gaming’s operations in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, will succeed Bogich in his prior role.
Boyd Gaming’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Keith Smith, said: “Each of these four accomplished executives has played a critical role in our company’s success, and through their expanded roles, we will further leverage their talent and expertise as we continue to drive long-term growth and efficiencies throughout our operations.”
Steve Thompson, part of Boyd Gaming since 1983, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held several senior executive positions within the company. He was named Senior Vice President, Operations for Boyd Gaming’s Nevada region in 2004, and Executive Vice President, Operations in 2016.
In his new role as Chief Administrative Officer, he will supervise pivotal corporate functions, including Procurement, Administration, Design & Construction, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Communications, and Race and Sports.
Steve Schutte, with 30 years in the gaming industry and a tenure at Boyd Gaming since 2014, steps into his new role after successfully overseeing the Las Vegas Locals properties and serving in senior operational positions at gaming companies in Ohio and Las Vegas.
Ted Bogich, joining Boyd Gaming in 2004, has ascended through various roles, culminating in his recent promotion as Chief Operating Officer. His oversight will extend across Boyd Gaming’s 28 properties nationwide, inclusive of Corporate Marketing, and Slot Analytics and Strategy.
Ward Shaw, with a 25-year background in gaming, has contributed significantly since joining Boyd Gaming in 2018 as the Senior Vice President, Operations, bringing expertise from senior roles in multiple jurisdictions within the gaming industry.
