Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are two of the best heavyweight boxers on the planet. For years, fans have been left wondering when and where they will finally meet in the ring. Today, we’ll talk about some of the most likely locations for Joshua vs. Fury.

Based on what is being said, only a few months remain until this fight will be taking place. It’s exciting news for boxing fans around the world. There are many areas of the world now pushing to host this bout.

Here’s what you need to know!

Fury and Joshua are Expected to Compete This July

Tyson Fury has been one of the world’s best heavyweight boxers for years. After defeating Vladimir Klitschko in November of 2015, “The Gypsy King” announced his retirement from the sport. It was an abrupt ending to the career of the sport’s biggest heavyweight superstar.

This retirement only lasted for so long. In June of 2018, Fury made a return to the sport against Sefer Seferi. He’s gone 4-0-1 since that time and most recently defeated Deontay Wilder via knockout in the 7th round.

Anthony Joshua has bounced back from his loss to Andy Ruiz in a big way. His most recent victory over Kubrat Pulev was one of the best of his career. At 31 years old, Joshua is likely in the prime of his fighting career.

Not long ago, reports surfaced that the bout agreements for Fury and Joshua had been agreed to. This was a two-fight agreement between the two champions. These reports indicate that the first fight between them will be taking place this July.

Obviously, fans around the world are excited to see this fight finally taking place. Fury and Joshua are both based out of the United Kingdom and have huge fan bases. Everyone seems torn on who will come out the winner in this bout.

There are still many unknowns about this matchup. It appears there are several parts of the world where this heavyweight super fight could end up taking place. Here’s what we know!

Here’s What We Know About the Locations for Joshua vs. Fury

There are many huge boxing matches expected to take place in 2021. None is as big as the one between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. These men have been on a collision course for years and just about everyone wants to see who will come out on top.

Current reports indicate this bout will be taking place in July. An exact date has not been announced yet. Now, fans and members of the boxing media are trying to figure out where this bout will be taking place.

It seems there are several possible locations for Joshua vs. Fury. One obvious choice is the UK. Fury and Joshua are both from the United Kingdom and a fight here would likely sell out any arena that it takes place in.

Eddie Hearn, CEO of Matchroom Boxing, spoke about this situation to the media this week. He claims that an offer for different locations will go out this week.

“At the end of this week both fighters and the teams will be presented with all the offers and options on the table, which there will be multiple ones,” he said. “We’re in a good place. I saw John Fury’s comments. It’s almost like they don’t really want the fight. I’d like them to talk it up, rather than talk it down. When you look at the Wembley option, which is still teetering around. Maybe unrealistic, but it’s another option that we’d like to present… I put this fight up there as the biggest sporting event of 2021. I know the Olympics is a big period. This is massive. This is something the whole world will stop to watch.”

Hearn went on to claim that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, Dubai, and America are also being considered. The real trick is finding the most lucrative option at a time when much of the world is still shut down to travel. Hopefully, an announcement on this situation is made in the next few days.

On May 8, Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders will be competing in a massive super-middleweight matchup. Canelo is one of boxing’s pound-for-pound best fighters and comes in as the -700 favorite here. Billy Joe Saunders is a craft veteran but is listed as the +450 underdog in this contest.
