The first day of BLAST Premier Spring group B was just as surprising as that of group A. Vitality got swept away by Complexity. Even though it was against all odds on CSGO bookmakers, it was kind of expected. I had it in one of my accumulators (that didn’t go through in the end lol) and the reason is quite simple – poizon returned to the starting lineup. Can the Bulgarian AWPer help his team reach another upset? Well, that’s what our Complexity vs. G2 picks are here for!

Complexity vs. G2 Betting Predictions
Let’s start off by emphasizing G2’s marvelous performance against Evil Geniuses. With 2:0 on the scoreboard, one might team EG failed to put up a proper fight, but if you’ve watched the match, you know that it was far from that.
Brehze and the boys stood their ground, reaching double figures on both maps before G2 inevitably closed it off. HuNter had a blast out there, AmaNEk too. In a team that usually thrives off Niko, nexa, and kennyS, it was surprising to see two “outsiders” rising up to the challenge and showing off their impressive pallet of skills.
As for Complexity vs. Vitality, poizon had a solid match but it was the Danish duo, k0nfig and blameF, who made all the difference in the end… especially on Overpass where they swept the Frenchmen away, losing only two rounds in the process. Oh what an astonishing feat that was, and to think most bookies had them at upwards of +250. Too bad I didn’t have it as a single…
Expectations
What can we expect from this match; is there anything noteworthy for our Complexity vs. G2 predictions? Well, expectations are a tricky thing in the double-elimination group stage like this one. Teams can play against each other twice, and often times we see two totally different matches. From what I believe (from what I’ve seen thus far), I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Complexity vs. G2 pan out as the deciding match in the group stage.
As for this one, I’m leaning towards G2. While Complexity did profit from poizon’s return, it takes no genius to realize that, in-form nexa looked outright scary. We’ll talk more about that later on in the roster strengths section. For now, let’s focus on the map pool stats of both teams!
Map Depth
We’ve seen Complexity reach greatness against Vitality on Mirage and Overpass. The latter was especially interesting since the NA org lost only two rounds in the process. How will that affect this match?
Well, it doesn’t mean much for Niko and the boys. You see, G2 usually bans Overpass right away, and after seeing what Complexity did to poor ZywOo, it’s pretty clear they’re going to ban it right away. Mirage, on the other hand, ought to be the decider map, assuming G2 doesn’t close this one out in two!
Roster Strengths
As stated earlier, Complexity’s Danish duo, k0nfig and blameF, were on fire against Vitality.
Can they give us more of the same against G2?
Unfortunately, their gameplay doesn’t align very well with G2’s. KennyS won’t give enough space to poizon, and the three Balkanieros will suffocate every attempt the Danes make.
Let’s put it this way – Complexity will need a proper miracle if they are to win against G2 tomorrow and secure a direct spot on the BLAST Premier Spring Finals. That said, I think you know where our Complexity vs. G2 betting predictions are going to end up:
Complexity vs. G2 Picks
Pick: G2 to Win
Odds: -134
$100 Could Win You…$174.63
That’s right – nothing fancy, just G2 to win at -134 and that’s it. To be frank, -134 is actually great value considering everything surrounding the two sides. I know the odds are set up this way because of the way Complexity stomped over Vitality, but I reckon we’re going to see poizon and the boys in totally different light tomorrow.
NiKo and the boys are a team that isn’t fazed too much by the heavy favorite status. Now that their so-called “advantage” has shrunk down, I reckon they’ll come into the much with even more aggression.
However, if you’re thinking of going with total maps over/under, I’d advise you against it. It’s too risky considering the snowball potential on both ends.
That’s about it for today folks, fingers crossed these Complexity vs. G2 picks come through!
