They’ve just been open for eight months, but a Durango Casino expansion is already in the works. Not only has the property been a financial success, but it’s also been a big hit with locals. Now, before they’ve even celebrated a first anniversary, plans are being made for expanding the casino floor and parking area, among other changes.
During an earnings call, owners of the company confirmed the Durango Casino expansion which is currently in the planning and budgeting phases. Specific timelines and costs have yet to be finalized. However, they emphasized that this expansion will generate both construction and permanent jobs, enhance guest convenience, and position the property for future growth.
The work will increase the casino floor by approximately 2,500 square feet, featuring a new high-limit slot area and bar. The casino will add 230 new slot machines, including 120 in the high-limit room. Additionally, a new covered parking garage will be built, adding around 2,000 parking spots.
Owners are also exploring a further Durango Casino expansion on both the north and south sides of the property. Future developments under consideration include entertainment options such as a movie theater or a country-western dance hall, as well as mid-week improvements like hotel and spa enhancements.
