The final table for the WSOP 2025 Main Event has been set, with nine players remaining from the original field of 10,112. The tournament, which began on 3 July at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, is closing in on its $10 million top prize as the last contenders prepare for the final stretch.
Each of the nine finalists is guaranteed at least $1 million. Leading the field is Joshua Payne of Ohio, who holds 143.7 million chips. He is followed by Germany’s Thomas Schultz with 127 million and Jonathan Pastore of France with 75.7 million. This year’s final table includes players from five different countries, maintaining the international flavor of the event.
Notably, American John Hesp Jr., son of 2017 finalist John Hesp, has advanced to the final table, echoing his father’s deep run. With 35.5 million chips, he remains a long shot but still very much in contention.
The WSOP 2025 Main Event set a new record for attendance, surpassing the previous year’s 10,043 entries. The total prize pool reached over $94 million, making it one of the richest tournaments in poker history. Play will resume on 16 July at Horseshoe Las Vegas, with the final table broadcast on PokerGO. The event will continue until a new world champion is crowned.
WSOP 2025 has continued to attract a global player base and has cemented its place as the premier poker event in the world, combining massive prizes, international competition, and high-stakes drama on the Las Vegas Strip.
