Caesars Entertainment has opened Harrah’s Oklahoma, its first managed property in the state, developed in partnership with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. The facility is expected to become a new hub for tourism and entertainment along the historic Route 66 corridor in the Chandler area.
The casino celebrated its grand opening on Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by tribal leaders and company executives. Festivities included inaugural gaming moments, appearances by local celebrities, live performances, and a fireworks display.
Adding to the opening-day excitement, Oklahoma football legends Barry Switzer and Bob Stoops participated in ceremonial first-play events on the casino floor.
The new property features 12 table games, more than 1,000 slot machines, and a dedicated high-limit gaming area. Dining options include Arrow & Ember, offering contemporary American cuisine such as steak, lobster bisque, and specialty burgers, as well as Dash Café for quick-service items like smashburgers, pizza, and breakfast burritos.
The sprawling 173,000-square-foot building is situated about 50 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. With Route 66 celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026, thousands of travelers are expected to flock to this part of Oklahoma, including hordes of motorcyclists headed to visit the historic Seaba Station Motorcycle Museum in tiny Warwick.
Guests to the new property can participate in Caesars Rewards, allowing them to earn and redeem credits at Harrah’s Oklahoma and other Caesars destinations nationwide, including Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe, and New Orleans.
“This is a milestone moment for our team, our partners, and the Chandler community,” said Joe Scibetta, SVP and General Manager of Harrah’s Oklahoma. “We’re proud to officially open our doors and introduce a destination that delivers the Harrah’s experience while creating something new and exciting for Oklahoma.”
Jake Keyes, Chairman of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, said the partnership represents a long-term investment in economic growth. “Harrah’s Oklahoma brings new energy to our community and creates meaningful opportunities for future generations,” he stated.
The development is expected to create more than 300 jobs across gaming, hospitality, food service, security, and administrative roles. Officials said the property is positioned to serve as a regional tourism anchor, drawing visitors from across Oklahoma and neighboring states while supporting local economic development.
