Heroic vs. Liquid Betting Predictions – Odds, Picks and Value

Yessir, we’re starting off big with our IEM XV Global Challenge betting predictions. First up, we’ll be covering the final group B opening match. Heroic vs. Liquid picks are what it’s all about right now, so let’s cut straight to the chase!

What’s the current situation in group B? Well, NaVi just defeated FURIA which means they’re waiting for the winner of this match. FURIA will be going up against the losing side. As far as BLAST Premier Global Finals qualifications are concerned, both Liquid and Heroic have everything to play for here. Liquid is in a much better situation; the boys in blue practically need to place above Heroic and their job is done! There are other scenarios in which they don’t get in, but they include BIG winning the event and other highly unlikely scenarios.

Heroic vs. Liquid Betting Predictions

Believe it or not, Team Liquid and Heroic haven’t played any head-to-head matches thus far. This will be their first! And it’s quite the occasion, if I may add… just perfect for fine value, just what the doctor ordered for our Heroic vs. Liquid picks.

Form

Let’s start with Team Liquid. Obviously, their 2020 has been one big disaster. The only thing they have left to fight for is the BLAST Global Finals next January, and that’s all thanks to the one good event they had this year – ESL Pro League S11 NA. Since then, Liquid has been unrecognizable (for the most part). They had a few close finishes but failed to win a single NA event since April.

To make matters worse, their European track record doesn’t look too good either. However, the same can be said about Heroic’s last couple of events too. However, the Danes’ 2020 pinnacle happened much more recently than Liquid’s. Heroic had an amazing run of form from August to October, having won ESL One Cologne, DreamHack Open Fall, and third place on ESL Pro League S12 EU.

Map Depth

Both teams have pretty good map pools, but Liquid seems to be superior coming into this one. The NA side should reign supreme on Dust 2 (Heroic’s permaban), and Overpass which could complicate things for Heroic… especially knowing their best maps (Vertigo and Nuke, are both tightly contested. We’re likely to see a three-map marathon here, although our Heroic vs. Liquid picks won’t revolve around total maps wager!

Roster Quality

Finally – roster quality! We have two tightly packed rosters here with not a lot of difference between them. However, I feel like I need to emphasize two things. First; on Liquid’s end, Grim is looking better and better but eliGE’s form took a drop last month. While I do think Liquid’s newest addition can achieve even more, they’ll need their star player to perform at his usual level if they are to reach their goals here.

Even though Heroic doesn’t have excellent results to back up the status of the favorite here, they have stavn. He’s been their key player throughout 2020 and is likely going to be the first name on the team sheet tomorrow.

He’s the number one target man for Team Liquid, if they are serious about snatching the last ticket for the BLAST Premier Global Finals next year.

And, you know what – I reckon they’re serious about it! BLAST Premier Global Finals bring forth $1 million in prize money and mark the start of the 2021 CSGO competitive season.

Heroic vs. Liquid Picks

Yep, we’re going with the underdogs here… if you’re going to label Liquid as the underdogs in this one. I mean, sure, their form hasn’t been the greatest, but I’d still expect them to defeat the Danish side… If not as a mean of asserting their authority in the group, then surely because their Global Finals’ ticket depends on their result.

EliGE hasn’t been in great form in the last month or so. In fact, Grim seems to be the most in-form Liquid player at the moment. There’s a lot of responsibility on the 20-year-old signing – let’s hope (for the sake of our Heroic vs. Liquid picks) that he shows up for the occasion tomorrow!
