he inaugural SiGMA Americas virtual gaming summit kicks off today, focusing on two themes: SiGMA Americas for the Gaming industry (Sept. 22-23) and AIBC Americas for the Emerging Tech industry (Sept. 24).

The event is focusing solely on the gaming industry across Central and South America. This latest addition to the SiGMA series follows the successful events held for Asia and Europe, and it is designed to provide an in-depth view of the complex gaming ecosystem in Latin America.

The SiGMA Americas summit will bring together more than 115 speakers, including global casino and iGaming operators, regulators, financial analysts and thought leaders from across LatAm and beyond.

The interactive experience, which will be accessible to everyone, will feature a series of panel discussions and keynotes from leading industry contributors throughout the region, bringing top speakers together for discussions that will engage the LatAm gaming and tech communities and shape the fast-changing regulatory landscape in the continent.

The agenda covers a number of hot topics, including in-depth focus on Columbian, Brazilian, Argentinian, Venezuelan, Mexican, and Peruvian markets. Panels will also look at the M&A appetite in LatAm post-COVID-19, as well as examining the legislative landscape.

On Tuesday, high-profile spekers include Juan B. Perez Hidalgo (President of Coljuegos), Maghno José, (The Brazilian Legal Game Institute), Karen Sierra Hugues (GLI), Manuel Sánchez Ortega (JCJ Panama), Víctor Arias (Pragmatic Play), Sebastian Vivot (LOTBA Buenos Aires), Víctor Araneda (Gaming1), Christian Vargas (Latamwin), Gonzalo Pérez (Apuesta Total), Lorenzo Johnson (DoradoBet), Juan Ignacio Juanena (Enjoy), Fernando Garita (Betcris), and Andre Gelfi (Suaposta), among others.

The opening speech features an interview with Perez Hidalgo, and David Plumi, Betsson Group. The next session is “Focus Colombia: Has Spanish Legislation Paved The Way For A New Regulatory Framework In Latam?” followed by “Focus Brazil: Could Gambling Legalization Save Brazil From Its Financial Crisis?” with the participation of Witoldo Hendrich Junior, Hendrich Advogados; Luiz Felipe Maia, Fymsa Advogados; Magnho Jose, The Brazilian Legal Game Institute.

Day one will then feature five more Focus sessions: Panama, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Peru, in that order. The last two activities will be the panels titled “Cracking The Igaming Latam Market: Dealing With A Diverse Landscape” and “M&A Appetite In Latam: How Hungry Are Investors For New Markets?” See the full agenda here.

The event follows strong interest in SiGMA-ICE Asia Digital, which launched earlier this year, and which has seen huge interest from an industry keen to solidify connections amidst the health pandemic. SiGMA’s foray into Latin America is the third pillar in SiGMA Group’s portfolio of events, adding to a strong global presence throughout Asia and Europe with flagship shows in Manila and Malta both holding events post-COVID-19.
