As Las Vegas casinos reach their vaccination goals and begin to fully reopen, the Nevada Gaming Control Board has decided that the casinos can each set their individual face mask policies.
The move comes as the Centers for Disease Control announcement that people who have been vaccinated don’t need to wear face coverings, even if they are indoors.
However, that does not necessarily mean that inoculated people can go anywhere without a mask. Casinos are also free to continue the face mask requirements for their guests if they choose to do so.
A spokesperson for the Gaming Control Board said that their agents will not try to confirm the vaccination status of casino patrons. Therefore, it’s “…not practical for the Board to attempt to enforce a mask mandate tethered to an individual’s vaccination status.”
