The Las Vegas summer travel season is set to kickoff on Memorial Day! If Las Vegas is in your travel plans, there are several events that only take place during the summer! We’re discussing live events, interactive experiences, summer activities, concerts, show, and free fireworks!
Las Vegas gaming revenue is down, but tourism is up because there’s so much more to do in Sin City these days than just gamble. This week we’re looking at some new attractions, fun activities and free events that you can enjoy, and we kick things off the Las Vegas summer season with Wheel of Fortune! Yes, America’s favorite game show is set to take over the Paris this July with Wheel of Fortune LIVE, hosted by Mark L. Walberg. Fans will be able to catch live performances July 11th and 12th, and again on the 18th and 19th, and might even have a chance to spin the Wheel, solve some puzzles, and win some prizes! There will also be auditions taking place for your chance to become a contestant on the ACTUAL show with Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White! Of course there are several other amazing shows this summer, from Absinthe to Mad Apple… and we rank them in our Top 10 Must See Shows in Las Vegas!
Now, we can’t talk about summer in Las Vegas without mentioning swimming and the pools at these resorts. Have officially opened for the season some with new features and renovations. The new OYO pools have long games, live DJs and cocktails. The M Pool at M Resort just added the new patio, Mexican restaurant and the Oasis Pool at Fontainebleau got a new poolside French Mediterranean restaurant. Of course, Flamingo has reopened their renovated GO Pool just in time for the Las Vegas summer. That $20 million makeover brought in new cabanas, live DJs, and a 30 seat swim up bar… thus ensuring that there’s enough urine in the water for everyone. And once you’re done swimming (and maybe taking a shower) there’s the ultimate interactive event of the year:The 2025 World Series of Poker!
Even if you’re just a recreational player, the WSOP has something for you with small buy-in tournaments and cash games. In fact, we interviewed two time bracelet winner Mark Safe about this very thing and how you can enjoy the WSOP with only a few hundred bucks. From the $300 gladiators of poker to the $500 no limit, hold them Colossus. The main event begins July 2nd, and you can qualify for a seat by winning an online tournament at GGPoker and the WSOP website! Or you can try a live satellite! The 2025 World Series of Poker runs May 27th through July 16th. More interactive events in Las Vegas this summer include the new John Wick Experience at Area 15 and the recently opened Friends Experience at MGM Grand. So check out our video on the 5 New Las Vegas Attractions You Can’t Miss!
Of course, nothing says it’s a Las Vegas summer quite like a firework show. But you don’t have to wait till July 4th to enjoy them. And the best part is it’s totally free. The Plaza down on Fremont Street will be shooting off pyrotechnics every Friday from now through September 26th. The show is short but intense and begins promptly at 9:15. If you’re in downtown Vegas for fireworks, why not stay for a totally free concert? The Fremont Free Concert Series is back for 2025 with 18 performances from various artists, including Toad the Wet Sprocket, Zebra, and Robin Thicke. Shows will be on one of three stages located up and down the Fremont Street experience. But these concerts do draw large crowds so get there early and expect security. After you take in the free fireworks and concerts, stay for the free Viva Vision Canopy Show… daily at the top of every hour from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am!
