As the situation in Las Vegas becomes delicate, word has come that MGM casino workers will have to pay for weekly COVID testing if they cannot provide proof that they have been vaccinated.

Authorities are still struggling to cope with the new variants of Coronavirus, so this move doesn’t seem too unreasonable considering the cost of a weekly test is just $15. And that is only for those employees who (for whatever reason) have not received the vaccine.

The MGM Resorts policy on this matter went into effect on Monday, and has an interesting provision: Those who test positive must quarantine themselves. And those who are not vaccinated and test positive will not be paid for their time on quarantine.

This push to stay on top of the virus is in effect for all MGM casino workers at all of their Las Vegas resorts, which includes the Bellagio, Aria, Mirage, New York-New York, and the Park MGM. They also operate the Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and of course the MGM Grand, as well as several other properties.
