Looking back at the first day of BLAST Premier Spring Groups, no one could’ve really predicted the first result. I mean, NiP taking down Astralis with 2:0 on the scoreboard, especially after failing to impress on CS_Summit 7 last month… who would’ve thought? Now they’re up against BIG who’ve cruised against OG, perhaps with more ease than most of us had initially thought. NiP vs. BIG predictions seem pretty straightforward at the first glance, despite NiP pulling off a massive upset in the first round. Are we in for another surprise here?
DAY 1 IN THE BAG 💥
I don’t think a lot of people had predicted a bracket looking like this on day 2, but that just makes tomorrow that much more exciting!

Group A got complicated right off the bat! The lower bracket now features OG vs. Astralis, a match that will push one of the teams into the Showdown. Astralis are still in it, but they will have to forget about their opening-round defeat and turn a new page.
But, enough about that. All you CSGO betting fans must be eagerly awaiting the actual match discussion in picks, so I reckon it’s about time we kick it off:
NiP vs. BIG Betting Predictions
NiP’s form is outright awful. I mean, before their triumph against Astralis, NiP had just one win in eight matches… and it was against Dignitas of all teams. One win doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, and that’s something we’re going to base our NiP vs. BIG predictions on.
Ztr had a solid match, finishing the contest as the top fragger in his team, and one of the biggest overall contributors too. Nawwk and hampus were excellent too, just enough to push NiP through with a 2:0 fashion.
Expectations
Now that nawwk and the boys have tasted blood, their expectations must be sky high! Coming into the event, they hoped to contest OG and BIG for second place. Now that they’ve pushed Astralis aside and are one match away from qualifying for the Spring Final, they’ll definitely be fancying their chances against BIG. They’re well-aware of the underdog label, but they’ve already shown us they’re capable of playing with it.
As for BIG, they’re still on the trail of being the runner-up favorites in group A. They’ve successfully swept OG away and are now inches away from the Finals. They’ve expected a clash against Astralis in the second round but got a nice little surprise called NiP. And while, on paper, NiP is surely the lesser of the two teams, playing against them might be more difficult than it might seem at the first glance…. Making our NiP vs. BIG predictions a bit more complex than we’d like.
Map Depth
What about the map pool depth? Well, we’ve seen NiP do crazy things on Overpass and Inferno against Astralis. Inferno has been one of their best maps lately, so that one didn’t come as a massive surprise. Overpass, however, adds another dimension to their banning phase and could cause problems for BIG coming into this one.
The Germans do have everything under control – Mirage, Nuke, and Vertigo should go their way every day of the week. Their map pool doesn’t leave too much room for NiP maneuvers.
As far as head-to-head matches are concerned, BIG and NiP already had a direct encounter on Battle of Betway. BIG won the series 3:2 in what was an astonishing match for all true CSGO fans. Are we in for another thriller, this time going to the third map?
Roster Strengths and Weaknesses
SyrsoN had another impressive performance against OG. 47 kills across two maps, pretty good for your designated AWPer, right? XANTARES and k1to are not to be taken for granted either.
As mentioned earlier, ztr had a proper baptism by fire against Astralis. The 17-year-old Swedish prodigy’s debut was exceptional, to say the least… but it does prompt the question of whether or not he’s a one-hit wonder. If he’s able to string together a few more excellent displays, I wouldn’t be surprised if he pushes NiP through to the Finals… perhaps not against BIG tomorrow, though.
NiP vs. BIG Picks
We’re starting our 2021 BLAST Premier Spring Groups journey with a simple wager. Nothing special here, nothing too risky either. We’re basically betting on BIG to cement their spot as the favorites coming into this match. If they can snatch the win against the Swedish side, they’re through to the finals… and that’s an opportunity they won’t take for granted.
$100 Could Win You…$150.00
If you’re feeling lucky, you can always try to make it rain with a correct score wager. NiP showed tenacity against Astralis, they took the Great Danes for a spin on Overpass and Inferno, which means they won’t back down against NiP without a proper fight. That said, BIG to win 2:1 at +190 might be worth the hassle too. It’s riskier, I know, but as I said – if you’re feeling lucky, go for it!
