Wednesday looks like another relatively quiet day on the sports betting front, but Thursday is shaping up to be quite a day. The Masters will finally get underway tomorrow, while we also have a solid Thursday Night Football matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans.
Wednesday’s BetOnline odds boosters are Masters-centric, but we also have a trio of college football games on the schedule. No major programs are in action, but football is football, right? Here’s how to approach BetOnline’s odds boosters on Wednesday.
Golf: Woods, Mickelson, and Fowler ALL to Make the Cut (+240)
Tiger Woods has missed the cut at the Masters just once in his 22 appearances at Augusta. He is unlikely to win it for the second year in a row, but I have all the confidence in the world that Tiger will still be playing once the weekend rolls around. Anything can happen, especially with the dicey weather on tap for the end of this week, but I’d be legitimately shocked if Tiger didn’t make the cut. BetOnline has Woods at -275 to make the cut.
Phil Mickelson’s track record at Augusta isn’t quite as impressive as Woods’, but he still knows his way around this course. Phil has missed the cut just three times in 27 tries at the Masters thus far. Two of those cuts came fairly recently (2014, 2016), and he’s clearly not a serious threat to actually win the tournament for the fourth time in 2020. Still, the odds (-175) are clearly in favor of Mickelson making the cut again this week.

Rickie Fowler is one of the best players on the PGA Tour to have never won a major. The 31-year-old has come in second at the Masters, US Open, and Open Championship, along with a third-place finish at the PGA Championship.
Fowler has missed just one cut in nine starts at the Masters, which came back in 2016. He has a trio of top-five finishes, but he has finished outside the top-10 in his other six attempts. Fowler is a heavy -300 favorite to make the cut this time around.
Golf: Woods Finishes Top-10 (Including Ties) at the Masters (+425)
Woods will attract no shortage of betting interest again this week due to the simple fact that he’s Tiger Woods. He’s essentially the Los Angeles Lakers of golf. As long as he’s playing, he’s going to be a popular bet. While Tiger is something of a long shot (+3300) to win his sixth Green Jacket this week, he obviously has far more favorable odds (+350) of cracking the top-10.
As mentioned, Tiger has played in 22 Masters in his career. He has finished inside the top-10 in an incredible 14 of those starts. He finished outside the top-five in just two of those top-10 finishes, too. If he’s in contention, he’s going to be charging to the top of the leaderboard.
If he’s healthy, there is no reason to believe the 44-year-old can’t make another run this year. I think his familiarity with the course is one of his most important attributes at this stage of his career. BetOnline is really sweetening the pot here with those boosted +425 odds on a top-10 finish for Tiger.
NCAAF: Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan BOTH to Win (+575)
We’ve got a trio of directional Michigan schools in action on this Wednesday night. Central Michigan will be taking on Northern Illinois, but the Chippewas aren’t involved in this particular odds booster. Tonight, we’re betting on Eastern Michigan taking on Ball State, while Western Michigan will host Toledo.
Eastern Michigan lost to Kent State by four points in their season opener a week ago. The Eagles are sizable eight-point ‘dogs tonight against a Ball State squad that lost by a touchdown last week to Miami of Ohio. Ball State beat Eastern Michigan by six points in their matchup last year.

Western Michigan, meanwhile, is a two-point favorite at home against Toledo. The Broncos are off to a 1-0 start after last week’s 58-13 thumping of the Akron Zips, while the Rockets trounced Bowling Green, 38-3. Both teams are listed at +600 to win the MAC this season, so this game may eventually go a long way toward determining the conference champion.
What’s The Best Bet?
Eastern Michigan is in a tough spot tonight on the road, while Western Michigan’s game against Toledo is looking like something of a toss-up. The +575 odds on both directional Michigan teams to win tonight are appealing, but both teams getting a positive result is a pretty tough outcome to trust. Because both of these Masters bets are so appealing, I think we can comfortably ignore tonight’s college football booster.
Rooting for a past-his-prime Tiger to secure a top-10 finish isn’t pie-in-the-sky.
He won this tournament just last year, and he has finished in the top-10 more often than he hasn’t over the course of his decorated career. Citing his track record certainly doesn’t make him a lock to contend this week, of course, but the value here is outstanding. I’d be all over Woods finishing in the top-10 at +425.
I also think Woods, Mickelson, and Fowler all making the cut at +240 represents good value. All three are heavy minus-money favorites to do so individually, so combining them at +240 gives you a lot more upside than you’ll get wagering on any of them individually. Both Masters odds boosters get the green light from me today.
