Rideau Carleton Casino/Future Hard Rock Casino Ottawa’s General Manager Helen MacMillan was named Tuesday the 2022 recipient of the Patricia Becker Pay It Forward Award on behalf of Global Gaming Women (GGW).
The award is given annually at GGW’s primary fundraiser, Kick Up Your Heels (KUYH), which will be taking place in Las Vegas on October 12. It honors women who have demonstrated a commitment to the development and advancement of women in gaming, as well as in their community in general.
MacMillan is being recognized for her ongoing contributions to the community of women in gaming around the world, and especially in Canada. She is Canada’s representative on the board of Directors for Global Gaming Women as well as the Co-Chair of their Education Committee where she provides mentorship, education, and scholarships to support women in the gaming industry.
“To be recognized in this way alongside this group of exceptional women from the gaming industry is a true honour. GGW is committed to the development and advancement of women in our industry and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to do what I can to assist the growth of the next generation of leaders,” said MacMillan after hearing of the recognition.
MacMillan became the General Manager of Ottawa’s Rideau Carleton Casino in November 2019 and is overseeing major developments as the casino transitions into Hard Rock Casino Ottawa. She is also a contributor to the Women’s Business Network in Ottawa, a non-profit association for women that supports and celebrates the business success of women in the national capital region of Canada.
