Scottish Premiership (Without Old Firm)
Aberdeen once again start off as favourites to be best of the rest, but Derek McInnes has been handed a major blow on the eve of the season with the news leading marksman Sam Cosgrave will miss the first three months of the season.
That could hand Hibernian the chance to keep the pace with the Old Firm as they adjust to life without a top-flight Edinburgh derby to look forward to. They look to have the right balance to improve once again under Jack Ross, as he pushes for a top six finish in his first full season at the helm.
Last season’s surprise third place finishers Motherwell also shouldn’t be discounted, with Stephen Robinson making some intriguing additions in bringing Callum Lang on loan from Wigan and Jake Hastie from Rangers.
Scottish Premiership Relegation
At the other end of the table, newboys Dundee Utd will be hoping Micky Mellon can maintain the side’s momentum as he takes up his first managerial stint in his native Scotland.
They start life back in the Scottish Premiership against another new side under new management in St Johnstone, as former Scotland international Callum Davidson takes up his first full time post.
Both sides should have enough to keep above the relegation fray, with St Mirren, Hamilton and Ross County all once again likely to be facing a season-long fight for survival.
Scottish Cup Winner Odds
You could be forgiven for being confused when it comes to the latest Scottish Cup betting.
As clubs head into the 2020/21 season, we’re still waiting to crown the 2019/20 winners.
When everything stopped indefinitely last spring, the competition was heading towards the semi-final stages.
Those semi-finals will now be played later this autumn, with Hearts set to take on City rivals Hib in an Edinburgh derby on 31st October 2020, and Celtic facing Aberdeen the following day.
Should those ties both go ahead as scheduled, the rescheduled final will be played on 20th December 2020. Celtic fans could be in for some Christmas cheer, with the Bhoys heavy favourites to be named Scottish Cup winners at 4/9 with Marathonbet.
SPL Top Scorer Betting and Odds – Main Contenders
Odsonne Édouard – provided his head isn’t turned this summer, it’s hard to look past Celtic’s 22-goal marskman from 2019/20 topping the charts again.
Jermaine Defoe – there’s still plenty of life left in the old stager, with the 37-year old grabbing 13 league goals last season. If Alfredo Morelos moves on to pastures new, Steven Gerrard may need to lean heavily on his free-scoring veteran.
Christian Doidge – could the Hibees hitman top the charts? He looks to be enjoying life in Leith, scoring 12 times in 2019/20.
Patryk Klimala – a wildcard, but if the 21-year-old gets more game time for the title holders, he could be Celtic’s new secret weapon.
Lawrence Shankland – 28 goals in 33 goals last season suggests the Dundee Utd man will have bags of confidence as he hits the top flight.
Scottish Premiership Betting Tips – Weekly Treble
Ross County vs MOTHERWELL
DUNDEE UTD vs St Johnstone
HIBERNIAN vs Kilmarnock
A £10 treble with Marathonbet on these three results would return £142.19
