portradar announced Thursday that Jeffery Yabuki has been appointed as Chairman of the Sportradar Holding AG (Global) Board of Directors, effective immediately.

The move follows Sportradar’s recent global reorganization, where the company shifted towards a more regionalized approach and reaffirmed its position as a global multi-vertical, data & technology company. Yabuki joins Carsten Koerl (Global CEO), Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB)’s Hafiz Lalani, Silicon Valley-based growth equity firm TCV’s John Doran, Chuck Robel, Marc Walder, Hervé Couturier and George Fleet on the Sportradar Group Board.

Yabuki most recently served as the Executive Chairman of Fiserv, Inc., a global leader in financial services and payments technology, enabling banking, commerce, and the safe and secure movement of money among financial institutions, businesses and consumers. Prior to serving as Executive Chairman, he was the Chief Executive Officer from 2005 through July 2020. During his tenure, Yabuki led the company through a significant transformation, nearly tripled its revenue and delivered a 969% total shareholder return.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff to the Sportradar team,” said Sportradar Group CEO Carsten Koerl. “His extraordinary leadership, strategic approach, and business acumen propelled Fiserv to become a global leader in financial services and payments technology. We look forward to having Jeff as Chairman of our Global Board of Directors as we continue to deliver unmatched experiences to our customers and partners and pursue transformative growth.”

“As the leading global provider of sports data intelligence, Sportradar has achieved remarkable growth and is well positioned for the future in this evolving market,” said Yabuki. “I am honored to join the Global Board to partner with Carsten and the incredibly talented Sportradar leadership team to create differentiated value at the intersection of sports entertainment and technology leadership.”

Before joining Fiserv, Yabuki spent six years at H&R Block where he was the Chief Operating Officer and held various leadership roles at American Express for more than 10 years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Royal Bank of Canada and Ixonia Bancshares, Inc.
