Maryland-based ratings agency and performance rating platform for sports betting SharpRank is kicking off 2022 with new NBA and NHL product offerings, the company has announced. The news follows “First Pitch” wins at SBC and G2E in 2021, which position the business for further expansion this year.
SharpRank, which describes itself as “the only independent sports betting rating agency,” leverages proprietary metrics, data science and ratings to expand the total addressable market it services. It is now onboarding both NBA and NHL picks as sports offerings, in addition to its existing CFB and NFL personalities and podcasts that currently have coverage on the platform.
These new sports add to the depth and scope of the weekly overall sharp/media success ratings, states a press release. Both the NHL and NBA will have their own individual sports rankings (Ex. Top 10 NHL, Top 10 NBA) which will be announced weekly via the app and Twitter and will culminate in the SharpRank Top 10 Overall cross-port ranking.
Additionally, the company has also announced plans to add MLB, NASCAR and select PGA and Horse Racing events. And in anticipation of FIFA at the tail end of 2022, soccer will also “likely be added.”
“We were happy to see the attention our service received in 2021 as the industry continues to grow,” said Chris Adams, CEO of SharpRank. “People see our proprietary ranking technology as a necessary and positive step in creating a more trustworthy and transparent market, so we are excited to continue to expand and offer new sports picks and rankings to further cover the market.”
SharpRank’s plans for expansion follow a successful 2021, in which the company was awarded the top prize at a number of industry conferences. The business won first prize at the first-ever SBC First Pitch competition, presented by Wagers.com, at the 2021 SBC Summit North America conference, as well as at the G2E Global Gaming Expo Pitch Competition in October.
Finalists for the competitions presented their company’s business plans to an esteemed panel of judges during each conference, explains SharpRank. SBC’s panel was moderated by Business Insider sports betting reporter Ashley Rodriguez and featured a group of sports betting investment experts.
“By helping to create a more transparent and trustworthy market, SharpRank is unlocking the long tail casual consumer and enables financial market tie-ins,” added Adams. “It would be difficult to trust a fund without a Morningstar rating – SharpRank is sports betting’s equivalent.”
By taking a comprehensive and holistic approach, the company provides the industry standard with respect to rating and ranking experts. SharpRank provides market validation to sports betting experts – “Sharps” – so the industry has a one stop shop to find credible, accurate, and transparent sources of information, explains the business.
According to SharpRank’s CEO, sports betting innovation is set to be vital in the expansion and sustainable growth of what is one of the fastest-growing industries in the US. “SharpRank aims to be at the forefront of its progress,” concluded Adams.
