The fourth season of The Masked Singer is in full swing. The season has been a wild one, with the likes of Brian Austin Green, Mickey Rourke, Busta Rhymes, Bob Saget, and Mark Sanchez among the luminaries to have already been eliminated.
So far, Sun has been wowing the judges with excellent performance after excellent performance. In the seventh and most recent episode, Sun sang Janis Joplin’s Piece of my Heart, which propelled her into the Super Six. She was joined by Popcorn, who nailed Bryan Adams’ (Everything I Do) I Do It For You to punch her own ticket to the Super Six.
Sun started the season as the odds-on favorite to claim the Golden Mask Trophy at the beginning of the season. So far, nothing else has happened to dissuade entertainment betting sites from keeping her atop the list of favorites.
With episode seven in the books and episode eight on the horizon, Sportsbetting.ag has updated their odds to win the Golden Mask Trophy accordingly:

- Seahorse (+350)
- Serpent (+350)
- Crocodile (+375)

- Popcorn (+450)

Four Candidates at Risk on Wednesday
Wednesday’s episode will feature a double elimination with two of the Whatcha Macallit, Crocodile, Seahorse, and Serpent going home. Based on the odds, it sure seems like Whatcha Macallit is facing an uphill battle. Each of the other three contestants facing elimination tonight has far better odds of winning the competition at season’s end.
As things stand, Whatcha Macallit at +1800 to win it all looks like a very easy bet to avoid. The only contestant with worse odds is Broccoli. Frankly, Broccoli should be eliminated based on the lameness of his costume alone:

Is that a unibrow? Why?
Broccoli does have solid pipes. Some have speculated that it could be Martin Short behind the mask, but the clues don’t necessarily line up. Regardless, it’s hard to imagine Broccoli or Whatcha Macallit making a serious run at the trophy, so passing on both looks like the best bet as of now.
Seahorse, Serpent, or Crocodile?
Assuming Whatcha Macallit gets the ax on Wednesday, that leaves one of Seahorse, Serpent, or Crocodile to also be shown the door. Every contestant at this stage of the competition is a legitimate challenger for the title, which will make the upcoming elimination a tough pill to swallow.

Of these three, Crocodile (+375) has the longest odds of going on to win. Nick Carter is a popular guess as to the person behind the Crocodile mask, and his performance of Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life was quite the crowd-pleaser.
It’s hard to imagine Seahorse going home this early. Not only does Seahorse have the second-best odds to win behind Sun, but she’s been among the most popular performers all season long.
Serpent could be anyone from Dr. Elvis Francois to Leslie Odom Jr., and it seems very unlikely that he’ll be going home so early in the season.
We’re betting Crocodile will be the one to join Whatcha Macallit in Wednesday’s double elimination, so avoid betting on Croc to go on to win the Golden Mask at +375.
How Do You Pass on Sun?
The Masked Singer betting sites were on to something when they installed Sun as the early favorite. Sun has done nothing but dazzle throughout the season to this point, and the judges have speculated that Sun’s true identity is a pop superstar.
Demi Lovato and Carrie Underwood are a couple of the names that have been thrown out there, so the chances are good that Sun is a legitimate heavy hitter in the music industry. We do know that she has a gold record on her resume. Obviously, having a career as an actual musician gives her an inherent edge over competitors like Bob Sager, Mark Sanchez, and the like.
Honestly, you can make a pretty compelling argument that Sun should be a minus-money favorite at this point. The fact that you can still get her at +275 is somewhat surprising. It’s not as though Sun isn’t without competition, but she has shown no signs of losing her status as a clear-cut frontrunner.
You are not going to be able to get Sun at odds this favorable for much longer, which is why you should take advantage of the opportunity while you still can. Sun isn’t going home any time soon, and at the very worst, she’s a great bet to advance all the way to the final rounds.
There is merit to taking a shot on Seahorse (+350) or Serpent (+350) considering they appear to be the most worth contenders, but the trophy is Sun’s to lose at this point. Take the plus-money odds and run.
