Tom Brady has broken and set so many NFL records and he continues to do so.
Just by stepping on the field on Super Bowl Sunday, he will add a couple of marks under his name. If the Bucs pull off the upset as three-point underdogs in the best NFL betting sites, Brady will annex more records in his legendary career.
But the thing with Tom Brady is, he’s also setting off-field records.
Last Sunday, the NFL’s official e-commerce partner Fanatics, revealed that Brady had become their best-selling NFL player ever for the two weeks between the Conference Finals and Super Bowl.
Setting Sales Record
The retailer did not mention the official sales figures but noted that the Northeast continued to support Brady with the New England Patriots out of the playoffs. As expected, Tampa is the top-selling market for Brady merchandise, followed by New York, Orlando, Boston, and Miami.

Fanatics also reported that the sales for Tom Brady merchandise this year is more than double their total sales for the same period in 2018 when Brady made his last Conference championship game appearance. It further said that it took only three days from this year’s NFC Conference title game to reach the level of sales during the full two-week period in 2018.
Star players usually account for 20% of a team’s total merchandise sales. But Brady’s is currently comprising 50% of the Bucs’ total sales, which Fanatics co-president of consumer retail calls Jack Boyle a “phenomenon that we have never seen before”. We can also say the same thing about Brady, on the field.
Brady led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl wins in nine appearances, winning a record four Super Bowl MVPs along the way. He left New England during the offseason and in his first season in Tampa Bay, his 21st overall in the NFL, Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first postseason appearance since 2007, and their first appearance in the Super Bowl since 2002.
The GOAT Showdown
Super Bowl LV’s quarterback matchup is being dubbed as one of the best ever, if not the greatest. It features the QB highly regarded as the GOAT in Brady and the one who has the best potential to topple Brady’s records- the Baby GOAT in Mahomes. Mahomes is the -115 odds on favorite to win Super Bowl LV MVP honors while Brady is second in the current SportsBetting.ag odds board at +240. But the QB match-up goes beyond the football field.

Last January 25th, a signed Tom Brady rookie card sold for a record $555,988 via eBay. However, that record was quickly topped by a signed Panini “black” Patrick Mahomes trading card last Saturday which fetched $861,000 during an online auction.
The NFLPA said that Mahomes and Brady went 1 and 2, respectively, in total jersey sales during the 2020 NFL season. However, for the period August 1-November 1, Brady’s Bucs jersey was the highest-selling jersey at Fanatics across all sports. Per industry data, Brady’s jersey sales have gone up by 900% since joining the Bucs last year.
But the biggest Brady vs Mahomes will be on the field on Sunday. These two are 2-2 head to head as NFL starters, with Brady winning their only playoff meeting in 2018, and Mahomes winning their only meeting of the 2020 season, 27-24. Oddsmakers expect a close game with the spread odds currently between 3 to 3.5 points, depending on which sportsbook you use. This could be an epic battle, really. And it’s going to go beyond Sunday’s game with more merchandise expected to sell after crowning the next NFL champion.
