Another day, another set of thrilling Flashpoint S2 matches to watch and talk about. The playoffs are in full flow with the upper bracket quarterfinals finishing with some style. Virtus.pro, BIG, Fnatic and MIBR are through to fight for a spot in the upper bracket finals. Our Virtus.pro vs. BIG picks are here to try and figure out which of these two teams will reach the next stage without dropping to the lower bracket.
Flashpoint 2 is a massive event, mind you! With $1,000,000 in prize money and twelve highly competitive teams, it’s one of the high-points of late 2020. The demand for CSGO betting opportunities is massive too, which is exactly why we’re going to try to find the best possible value for you guys!
Virtus.pro vs. BIG Betting Predictions
We’re looking at an upper bracket’s semifinal matchup here. On the other end of the bracket we have Fnatic vs. MIBR, another chaotic contest that’s likely to go the extra distance. As far as Virtus.pro vs. BIG picks are concerned, there are three factors we need to take into consideration – form, map pool depth, and roster quality.
Form
Results-wise, Virtus.pro has been pretty solid with the IEM XV NY CIS title, as well as a second-place finish on LOOT.BET S8. These excellent results came in following Virtus.pro’s roster alterations which included YEKINDAR’s arrival from pro100 and buster’s return to the starting lineup.
Virtus.pro have just four defeats in their last thirty-two matches. They lost against K23, Gambit, OG, and FURIA, three of which went to the deciding map. It’s a pretty stellar record, despite the fact most of their competitions have been tier-B CIS teams.
It was as close as it could be against @Envy, but we frag our way through to the upper bracket semi-finals of @Flashpoint where we will meet @virtuspro this Thursday! 🔥 #GOBIG pic.twitter.com/ChRAD6872D

I’m sure you’ve heard about BIG’s excellent form over the course of this summer. The Germans were absolutely fuming, having won three massive CSGO events and a whole bunch of smaller ones. This splendid run of form pushed them to the very top of the CSGO world. Most recently, BIG has won the second season of Merkur Masters which finished just three days ago. In other words, the Germans are coming into this tournament with winds of victory in their sails!
Our Virtus.pro vs. BIG picks aside, the Germans were, generally speaking, a much better team in 2020. Truth be told, Virtus.pro has a much richer history… but that’s not something games are won on. All in all, form isn’t really a viable section for us here. We’ll have to move forward to map pool depth and roster stats before giving away concrete predictions!
Map Depth
The Germans will feel comfortable vs. VP on Mirage and Nuke. Those are the two maps BIG should win without too much hassle. Virtus.pro should be superior on Train and Vertigo, but everything else will be tightly contested. These map pool discrepancies point to a possible third map. Remember, last time these two played a head to head match it went the extra length. While I do fancy BIG’s chances in this one, I’m not yet sure if I’m going to take the risky road and opt for either correct score or total maps over 2.5; that I will decide near the end of our Virtus.pro vs. BIG picks!
We have to say a word or two about head to head matches as well. In short, BIG has had a lot more success. In 2020, they played three H2H encounters and the Germans won all of them. I’m confident they’ll make it four out of four tomorrow!
Roster
YEKINDAR has to be pointed out as one of the biggest surprises in 2020. I know, I know, I’m emphasizing this Latvian teen a bit too much… but darn do I love the way he’s been playing for Virtus.pro thus far. Alongside Jame, young YEKINDAR has been the key part of VP’s successes this year.
SyrsoN and tabseN have been the key BIG players for the majority of the year. However, XANTARES is slowly moving up the ladder. The forgotten Turk is finally showing glimpses of his old brilliance, perhaps announcing even better things to come in the foreseeable future.
Virtus.pro vs. BIG Pick
Our main Virtus.pro vs. BIG picks are pretty straightforward – a match-winner on BIG should see this one through and help boost your betting bankroll ahead of upcoming playoffs clashes. Of course, this piece can’t be done without a riskier maneuver. This time around, I’ll be going with a chilly correct score wager. More precisely, 2:1 in favor of the Germans! At +220, it’s a great value that’ll help you get the most out of your next week’s betting slips.
Pick: BIG – 2:1
Odds: +220
$100 Could Win You…$320.00
With those words, it’s time to wrap everything up and call it a day!
Pavo out…
