On Sunday, March 7th, All Elite Wrestling will be live on PPV with an exciting event – Revolution.

Currently, there are nine matches scheduled for this PPV with a main event featuring the AEW world title as Kenny Omega defends his belt against former champ Jon Moxley in an exploding barbed wire death match.

The AEW tag titles and women’s championship will also be on the line during the PPV. Additionally, there will be a ladder match to determine the #1 contender for the TNT title and a Casino Battle Royale that rewards the winners with a future tag-team title shot.

Online sportsbooks have released odds for many of the top matches. Let’s step through the ring ropes, strut our stuff, pose like Rick Rude, and make some winning predictions.

Surprise Appearances Set for Revolution

For the last few weeks, AEW representatives like owner Tony Khan have said that the 6th participant for the ladder match will be a surprise entrant. We’ll examine this further in the match prediction below.

The other surprise set for Revolution is that a major pro wrestling star will sign an AEW contract at the PPV on Sunday. Khan made the following comments about this surprise:

“This Sunday a major star in the world of wrestling, a huge, huge star is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW on Sunday at the pay-per-view. I can confirm what Paul said is true, and I’m not talking about the person in the ladder match. We have a great, fun sixth person in the ladder match, but the person who I’m saying is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW, the person Paul referenced, that’s not the sixth person in the ladder match. Paul’s talking about a big surprise, and that’s that’s no joke. What he said to you I can confirm is true.”

As of this writing, there are no rumors of who this surprise star will be. Could it be CM Punk, Bautista, Ryback, Tessa Blanchard, or someone from Japan?

Buy-In Tag Team Match

  • Riho & Thunder Rosa (NA)
  • Britt Baker & Rebel (NA)

Riho, Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker were all participants in the Women’s World Eliminator tournament to determine the #1 challenger for the AEW women’s championship. All three women were considered by fans to be worthy of the tournament win.

Britt Baker was the one participant that most fans believed would win the tournament. But, she was eliminated by Nyla Rose who lost in the finals.

This tag-team match will be on the pre-show and it should be entertaining considering all four participants are talented.

With that said, Rebel is the “weakest link” in this tag team match and the perfect choice to take the loss. Go with Riho and Thunder Rosa to win this tag match.

Casino Tag Team Royale

It’s unclear as to all of the tag-teams involved in this match, but the winners will get a future tag title shot. The following teams have been advertised and promoted for this battle royale:

  • Bear Country
  • Silver & Reynolds
  • Evil Uno & Stu Grayson
  • Santana & Ortiz
  • The Butcher & The Blade
  • Private Party
  • Top Flight

We saw on the March 3rd episode of Dynamite that Fenix and Pac will also be in this battle royale.

There are numerous teams that deserve to win this match and challenge for the titles, but many of them have already had shots and failed like Santana & Ortiz, Butcher and Blade, and Private Party.

Top Flight and Bear Country are two of the newer teams that could certainly use this win to launch them in the division. But, with the revelation that Pac and Fenix are in this match, you have to go with them to win.

Pac and Fenix are a solid duo with plenty of in-ring excitement. They would make credible opponents for the Young Bucks or Jericho and MJF, whoever wins the tag title match at this PPV.

In fact, I can see Pac and Fenix becoming tag champs in the future if AEW continues teaming them up.

Miro & Kip Sabian vs. Orange Cassidy & Chuck Taylor

  • Miro & Kip Sabian (+120)
  • Orange Cassidy & Chuck Taylor (-160)

Here’s a feud that’s been going on for a few months now. Over the last couple of encounters, Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor have gotten the better of Miro and Sabian including at Kip’s wedding last month.

It’s now or never for AEW to let the beast loose by unleashing Miro this weekend. He should either destroy Taylor and Cassidy or turn on his friend and partner.

The duo of Sabian and Miro are going nowhere and the latter is just too talented to be stuck in a tag team that’s not even Top 10 in the company.

AEW needs to pull the trigger on pushing Miro more and that could all begin this weekend with an impressive performance. If this was the WWE, I would say it’s hopeless. But, since this is AEW, I think they will give Miro a boost moving forward.

As for the winners, I’m taking Miro and Sabian to pull off the upset as Miro forces Taylor to tap out. At +120, this matchup provides excellent betting value.

Face of the Revolution Ladder Match

  • Cody Rhodes (NA)
  • Scorpio Sky (NA)
  • Penta El Zero Miedo (NA)
  • Lance Archer (NA)
  • Max Caster (NA)
  • Surprise Entrant (NA)

This is going to be an exciting match due to the variety of stars in this contest. Cody Rhodes and Lance Archer competed for the TNT title where Rhodes won that match. Unfortunately, for Cody, I don’t see him winning this match. He doesn’t need the win or the title.

I think it would be cool to see Archer pull off the victory, but he also doesn’t need the title.

Penta is talented, but like Caster, he’s not in a position to rise as a single’s star as of yet. That leaves us with Scorpio Sky and the surprise entrant.

Scorpio Sky could really use the win as he’s been on the cusp of breaking out as a single’s star for some time now. I expect the former AEW tag champ to have a strong showing.

With that said, this reminds me of when Brian Cage debuted last year as a surprise entrant and won the match. I’m picking the surprise entrant to win this match. Scorpio Sky is a close second.

Big Money Match

  • Adam Page (-350)
  • Matt Hardy (+225)

This storyline was rather uninteresting at first when Matt Hardy was trying to sign Adam Page to a contract. However, after Page swerved Hardy, things became even more interesting. In fact, it has become an enjoyable storyline.

The stipulation for this PPV match is that the winner gets the loser’s money for the first ¼ of 2021. It’s an interesting stipulation and one that could go either way.

On paper, Page should win this match. Yet, Hardy could always cheat to get the win. He could also pay someone to help him.

If Page wins, it could also extend this storyline as Hardy becomes obsessed with getting revenge.

Online betting sites have Page heavily favored and for good reason. AEW is just buying their time before he gets back into the title scene. He’s a future world champ and needs a meaningful feud for the short term. So, why not keep things going with Hardy?

Take Hangman to win “Big Money” Matt’s earnings.

Big Money Match –Adam Page (-350)

AEW Women’s Championship

  • (c)Hikaru Shida (NA)
  • Ryo Mizunami (NA)

Ryo Mizunami was a surprise win for the women’s tournament to crown a #1 contender. Not only did Ryo beat some credible names on the Japan side of the tournament, but she also beat Nyla Rose in the finals.

It’s official! This Sunday, March 7th at #AEWRevolution it’s the champion @shidahikaru taking on the challenger @mizunami0324.

The tournament was a nice way to create more buzz for the division and possibly build up some new stars. With that said, there’s no way that Shida is losing this belt. She’s the longest reigning champ in AEW and a star with the company.

This match will be stiff and entertaining, but I’m taking Shida to come away with the win and retain her belt at entertainment betting sites.

AEW Women’s Championship –Hikaru Shida (NA)

AEW Tag Team Championship

  • (c)The Young Bucks (-250)
  • Chris Jericho & MJF (+170)

Things went from entertaining to personal after Jericho and MJF attacked the father of the Young Bucks last week and left him bloody. It ramped up the intensity for this match and made things even more exciting.

I’m a bit surprised that The Inner Circle is this big of an underdog. The Young Bucks have been the champs for a few months now, but they are better suited to chase the titles than to hold them.

With that in mind, I am taking the upset here. Other members of The Inner Circle will come out to interfere, which will bring out Gallows and Anderson.

But, The Good Brothers will end up costing The Young Bucks the titles by “accident” which puts the belts on two of AEW’s most entertaining stars and gets the feud between the Bucks and the Brothers going.

AEW Tag Team Championship –Chris Jericho & MJF (+170)

AEW Street Fight

  • Brian Cage & Ricky Starks (+275)
  • Darby Allin & Sting (-450)

AEW has done a wonderful job building to this street fight. For three months, they’ve invested in the Sting and Darby Allin alliance while using Team Taz as the perfect antagonists.

There’s never a clean street fight.

— Ricky Starks (@starkmanjones) March 1, 2021

Over the last month, the intensity picked up as we saw Darby Allin get dragged in a body bag through the parking lot and Sting take a massive power bomb from Brian Cage. In fact, the power bomb created more buzz than the body bag angle since it was Sting’s first bump in six years.

I would love to see Team Taz win this match as they deserve it. But, Allin is the TNT champ and Sting is the icon and I just don’t see them losing on Sunday.

AEW Street Fight –Allin & Sting (-450)

AEW World Championship Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match

  • (c)Kenny Omega (-550)
  • Jon Moxley (+325)

This world title match will be absolutely chaotic and probably take a few years off of each wrestler’s life. Yet, it will be a match that is another historic landmark for AEW. Omega made the following comments about the upcoming death match:

“There is going to be a certain level of excitement and even anxiety watching this match, a level of curiosity that won’t let you look away. This is going to be a more visceral experience, where so many of the senses, ones you don’t normally use when watching wrestling, are heightened. When people see this play out in the ring, it’s not going to be boring. I want to capture the unknown, all that excitement and anticipation.”

I believe these odds are a bit off. There’s no way that Moxley is this big of an underdog. But, now that I got that out of the way, I do believe Omega will retain the title.

Some way, somehow, Omega and his Bullet Club compadres will cost Moxley this match.

I think there’s a small chance that the “huge star” who is signing with AEW at the PPV could play a role in this match as well.

As for which way to bet, you have to go with Omega as AEW, Omega, Impact, and The Good Brothers are all on a roll with “The Cleaner” as the AEW champ.

AEW World Championship –Kenny Omega (-550)
