he Argentine State Lottery Association (ALEA, for its initials in Spanish) says that enabling domain registration in the special bet.ar zone is relevant due to the benefits it brings to official gaming sites. It allows the public to differentiate the legal gambling offer (approved by a state lottery) from the unauthorized gambling offer.
It provides state lotteries with a precise tool to fight illegal gambling, which has increased widely in the current pandemic context, through various procedures of control and identification of platforms that operate outside the domain area.
To the members of the digital ecosystem (telecommunication companies, media, banking system, etc.), and any other interested party directly or indirectly associated with the industry, it allows them to identify authorized operations just by being delimited within the zone domain bet.ar.
The authorization of the bet.ar zone for state lotteries in Argentina allows the homogenization of the records of the web pages of online gaming platforms authorized by the administrative and/or gaming regulatory bodies; It favors the clear identification of the operators and platforms authorized by the regulatory bodies of each jurisdiction and strengthens the communication strategies to identify illegal and/or unauthorized operators and sites.
