Astralis vs. G2 Betting Predictions – Odds, Picks and Value

Welcome back, boys and girls! Unfortunately, our most recent esports picks failed to deliver. We went with G2 to defeat BIG but I’m sure you know how it ended. It was a proper heartbreak following a bad display by NiKo. It was just one of those days for the G2 star, something which we couldn’t have predicted. But, we won’t waste time feeling sorry for ourselves! Another day, another set of BLAST Premier Fall Finals betting opportunities. Astralis vs. G2 picks is the next piece we’re going to focus on, so let’s jump right into the action!

Astralis vs. G2 Betting Predictions

Let’s address the elephant in the room first – is December a good time to bet on CSGO? Well, now is as good of a time as any! Plus, there are just two more events you can bet on this year – BLAST Premier Fall Finals and IEM XV Global Challenge which starts next week… and I’m afraid that’s it as far as 2020 CSGO betting is concerned.

Back to Astralis vs. G2 picks – let’s check both of them out and see if there’s anything interesting that could skew our picks one way or another!

Form

As stated earlier, G2 suffered a proper heartbreak against BIG earlier today. They had a good shot at taking away but their T side was just not functioning properly. They couldn’t get past by the German wall, to say the least.

Even though NiKo’s arrival prompted everyone to think G2 will be a real force to be reckoned with (including me), that hasn’t been the case thus far.

I mean, they’ve been solid. They got the better of Astralis, FURIA, and Faze Clan, but are consistently on the losing end against top-tier teams like Astralis and NaVi. Remember, the Great Danes eliminated G2 from DreamHack Winter earlier this month. And while G2 boys are always up for proper revenge, I reckon Astralis is too big of a fish to fry at the moment.

lost to @BIGCLANgg 1-2 in a very close game, lower bracket vs @Astralisgg next. ggwp #G2ARMY

Astralis are back on track; with both gla1ve and xyp9x back in the starting roster, Astralis is finally looking good again! Plus, gla1ve has returned to his trusty IGL role, meaning we’ll start seeing his IGLing goodness spring back to life.

Results-wise, Astralis are coming into this tournament with a massive boost from DreamHack Masters Winter. They’ve cruised through to the title, beating Mousesports 3:1 in what was a pretty clean sweep. Now they’ll be eyeing a spot on the Global Finals in January, and I reckon G2 doesn’t have what it takes to stop them. At least not right now!

Map Depth

What do the map pool stats tell us about these two? Are they enough to settle the difference and cement our Astralis vs. G2 picks? Well, at the first glance, Astralis seems to be the favorite here. With superior stats on Inferno, Nuke, Train, Overpass, and Vertigo, there’s really no question in their ability to close this one out.

G2’s only option is Mirage, but that’s Astralis’ permaban so we can cross it out right off the bat. What are they left with? They’re left with Dust 2 which should be their first pick. I’d like to see these two square off on Nuke just for the sake of some good old CSGO action… but I highly doubt G2 will come out of it as the winner.

Roster Strengths and Weaknesses

There’s not a single weak link in this Astralis roster. Mind you, we’re talking about the legendary (often referred to as the GOAT) roster that has won four CSGO Major Championships.

They’re insanely difficult to beat in best of three scenarios, and don’t even get me started on teams’ chances of beating them in a Bo5.

Device is usually the top fragger, but when we’re talking about this Astralis roster, we have to emphasize the collective rather than a single individual.

Oh boy… what a terrible performance from NiKo earlier today. I mean, I just don’t get it… The man keeps showing up for the occasion match in and match out; he’s always at or near the top-fragging spot… but every once in a while, he has one of these absolute blunders. It’s just how he’s wired, I guess – there’s no way of predicting why or when these disappointing performances will come up. For the sake of us winning our Astralis vs. G2 picks, let’s hope the Bosnian star makes it two in a row!

Astralis vs. G2 Picks

$100 Could Win You…$134.97

I know, I know – the odds on Astralis to win this one aren’t that big. If you’re a G2 fan, you might think +195 on NiKo in the boys offers far more value. However, I highly doubt G2 will win this one. They’re a team that should never be taken for granted, but they’ve shown us time and time again that, even with NiKo on board, they still aren’t at the top of the CSGO food chain.

Many of you will be interested in correct score options here, but I’m not that confident to give you guys a proper pick. Let’s just leave it at Astralis match-winner and call it a day.

That’s about it from our Astralis vs. G2 picks!
