Pro-cardrooms group Communities for California Cardrooms (CCC) launched Monday a new media campaign “to expose special interests that are trying to abuse the legislative process to diminish competition in the marketplace,” according to their statement. Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies is considering a bill proposed by congressman of the evangelical party Pastor Gil, which seeks to prohibit financial institutions from processing Internet transactions involving unauthorized gambling and lotteries. According to the proposal, the Central Bank of Brazil would have to establish rules to determine the cancellation of such transactions and prohibit the transfer of funds between buyers and suppliers. Bahamas Gaming Council CEO Daniel Johnson announced that his institution will grant a casino hotel license by the end of 2022. SkyCity Auckland casino workers went on strike Saturday night, demanding better pay. About 50 to 60 workers congregated outside the Auckland city casino on Victoria Street, as they fought to see their salaries congruently meet inflation.  90% of staff have been offered a pay rise of between 4 and 6%, which is well below inflation, according to Unite Union advocate Mike Treen. Iowa regulators issued a $60,000 penalty Thursday to a sportsbook for illegally allowing the use of credit cards on its site. According to Racing and Gaming Commission administrator Brian Ohorilko, the penalty involves American Wagering, which does business as Caesars Sportsbook.  According to Ohorilko, there was a specific incident in July 2021 where it was discovered that there were a number of transactions that took place using a credit card, which led to a full audit. “Throughout certain periods in 2020, 2021, prepaid debit cards were purchased using a credit card and a number of those transactions were permitted and it…
