International Game Technology (IGT) announced Tuesday its financial results for the second quarter of 2022, showing revenue of $1.2 billion, a 2% decrease compared to the same period in 2021. Revenue was driven by Global Gaming product sales, a segment that grew by 23%.  However, the business also reported a second-quarter net loss of $4 million, after reporting a profit of $306 million in the same period a year earlier. iGaming technology company Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) announced Tuesday it has inked a new deal with operator Betsson Group to provide its platform in Colombia. Greentube, NOVOMATIC’s digital gaming and entertainment division, announced Tuesday it has received its supplier licence from the regulator in Ontario, as it targets further expansion in markets across North America. Bettors at Melbourne Crown Casino will fall under the Victorian Government’s new reforms in Australia, which require them to pre-commit to losses and time spent on poker machines. Spain’s Directorate General for the Regulation of Gaming (DGOJ) published a new report called Analysis of the Online Gambler Profile 2021, in which officials indicated, among other highlights, that the Spanish online consumer spent an average of €523 – about $534 – during the whole of last year. The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador approved Friday an agreement with the Canadian government to launch a new electronic lottery. Through this new initiative, El Salvador is expected to be able to collect additional funds to support municipalities and invest in the execution of health and education programs.  Lawmakers placed 64 votes in favor of the proposal, four against, and 11 abstentions.
