Atlantic City casino workers authorized Wednesday a call to strike against the venues if new agreements are not reached by the beginning of July. Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) announced the closure of two of its satellite casinos in Macau —Rio Casino and President Casino— as of today, June 16. According to an audit issued by Colorado’s Office of the State Auditor on Monday, which analyzed how the Division of Gaming has regulated the first full year of legal sports betting in the state, the division allegedly hands out too many temporary licenses. The U.S. Supreme Court has sided with two Native American tribes in their fight with the State of Texas over authorized gambling on their respective lands. The ruling, delivered on Wednesday, reaffirmed their autonomy to regulate non-prohibited gaming and strengthened tribal sovereignty in the state. Australia’s Federal Court has approved US private equity giant Blackstone’s AUD 8.9 billion ($6.1 billion) takeover of casino giant Crown Resorts, a deal set to grant renowned billionaire James Packer an AUD 3.36 billion ($2.3 billion) payday in exchange for his 37% stake in the company.
